This meditation is offered to provide you a method for self-validation and support. To practice, you will bring to mind an experience in which you felt that you were not seen or understood. Then, I will guide you through a process in which you will use your hands to offer healing energy to your heart and a self-offering- that you are seen, heard, and understood.

Hello,

My name is Catherine Cook-Caton and this meditation is titled Healing Hands to Your Heart Meditation.

Before you start,

Find yourself in a comfortable position.

You might pause for a moment and get the supports that you need or reorganize your legs,

Your sitting position.

You'll want your feet to be well grounded or your legs and your sitting bones to be able to press down into the floor,

A cushion or a chair.

And then extend through your spine,

Softening your shoulders,

Softening your jaw and lastly softening or closing your eyes.

And simply take a few nice deep breaths,

Breathing in and breathing out and breathing in and breathing out and breathing in and breathing out.

Place your hands on your thighs,

Palms facing up and let them gently rest here,

Well supported.

And allow your mind to settle,

Opening up to the listening,

Opening up to the inquiry of this meditation,

The possibility of this meditation for you.

Let go of the need for this meditation,

This moment to be any certain way.

Right now,

You're simply aware of your breath as you breathe in and aware of your breath as you breathe out.

You might even take time here to lengthen and deepen your breaths,

Maintaining your grounded seat,

Your extended spine,

Deepening your connection to this meditation with each deepening of each breath.

So a really deep breathing in and a nice deep letting go,

A deep breathing in and a letting go that has depth.

Now imagine that the universe is filled with beautiful healing energy and I offer that this might be an easy thing to imagine because perhaps it's true.

This energy is everywhere,

It is above you and around you,

It is everywhere.

You might even notice that it has a color,

This healing energy,

Maybe you notice it's red or orange,

Maybe it's yellow,

Maybe for you it's green and blue,

Indigo or maybe violet.

What color do you notice when you imagine this beautiful healing energy all around you?

Breathe here,

Simply noticing this energy all around you,

Noticing its color,

Noticing its energy,

Its vibe,

Its sense,

Noticing this energy all around you and breathing in and breathing out,

Noticing the energy,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Know that this energy is the same energy that helps flowers and trees grow,

That powers wild horses when they run through fields.

This energy is the energy that warms hearts when they feel love and it's present when us humans share a loving laugh together.

This is the energy that's present when wounds heal,

The emotional and physical wounds.

This is the energy that is surrounding you right now,

This beautiful healing energy.

Now imagine that this energy could be channeled through you,

That you have the capacity to collect and organize this beautiful healing energy.

Imagine this energy could come right through the top of your head,

This beautiful,

Soft,

Powerful and gently warm healing energy filled with radiating love can come right through the crown of your head and then deep down and surround and enter your heart.

Imagine that this energy can then move through filling your whole body really and then extending through your arms and out into the palms of your hands,

Those very hands that are resting on your thighs,

The palms of your hands that are facing up out and toward the universe.

Imagine this energy coming through the crown of your head,

Through your heart,

Filling your body and then out through your arms and radiating out through the palms of your hands.

Breathing in and breathing out,

Noticing this energy,

Feeling this energy moving from the universe into you,

Filling you through your heart,

Out through your arms and out through the palms of your hands.

Now here,

Bring your awareness just to your hands and notice the very center of the palm of your hands.

Notice any energy or sensations right here at the center of your hands,

Breathing here,

Imagining the healing energy from the universe moving through you all the way from the crown of your head through your heart,

Filling your body and then out through your arms and through your hands.

Breathe here and allow for the possibility of this energy being focused and concentrated and radiating out through the palms of your hands.

Breathing in and breathing out and breathing in and breathing out.

Now gently bring your palms up,

Hands up and place your right hand over your heart and then your left hand over your right hand over your heart.

Imagine the beautiful healing energy radiating from the palms of your hands and surrounding your heart and then going deep into your heart.

Maybe even notice what your heart is feeling right here with this beautiful radiating energy connecting to your heart.

Now gently pressing,

Gently pressing your hands toward your heart into your chest here and then I'd like you to gently move your hands in a small circle,

Pressing them into your chest almost like a massage but a gentle circle.

It doesn't matter which direction,

Just this gentle,

Soothing,

Nurturing circle and as you move your hands into this circle,

Maybe have a sense of any hurts that your heart has experienced recently,

Any wounds,

Any little heartaches,

Any worries and just breathe this beautiful healing energy into your hands,

Into your chest radiating all the way around your heart.

If you'd like to change directions of your gentle,

Nurturing circle,

You can go ahead and do this or stay moving the energy in the same direction.

Notice what feels right,

Maybe even try one direction and then the other and then right here,

Continue in the direction that feels just right,

Right now.

Minding the energy coming through the crown of your head,

Through your heart filling your whole body and then out through your arms into the palms of your hands and radiating right back into your heart.

Take a few breaths here,

Breathing in and breathing out and breathing in and breathing out.

Remember this is the same energy that makes flowers and trees grow that powers wild horses when they run through fields,

That warms hearts when they feel love and is present when us humans share a loving laugh together.

This is the energy that can heal wounds,

Emotional and physical.

Breathing here and letting this energy flow right into your own body.

Really stopping the circle movement and simply having your hands on your heart,

Breathe here.

Breathing in and breathing out.

When you're ready,

Softly move your hands away from your heart and place them back down on your thighs,

Palms facing up.

Another deep breath in and a big letting go.

Deep breath in and a big letting go.

Take a few more breaths here,

Just gentle ones,

Allowing the energy of this meditation to settle.

Maintaining your grounded feet or legs,

Your grounded seat and your extended spine.

Adding a noticing of your breath with your thoughts.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in and breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in and breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

You might want to take a few moments here breathing,

Considering what this meditation means for you,

To you.

You might even want to journal about this meditation and what it might have brought to you,

What you notice,

What you consider or perhaps you just let the meditation sit.

For now,

Thank yourself for taking a few moments to self-nurture,

To listen,
