Welcome.
My name is Carolyn Ann Budgel.
This is a simple meditation to help transform some of the habits and patterns in the mind using an affirmation or a mantra.
The mind responds really well to whatever we choose to feed it.
And whether or not we realize what we've been sending to our brains throughout our life,
When we are stuck in negativity or we simply want to change some patterns,
The mind is responsible for so much of it.
Using a mantra or affirmation can slowly help to shift the ways in which we think and speak and act.
It begins in the mind.
Sit comfortably.
Take a couple cleansing breaths.
Relax any tension behind your eyes.
Let go of any hardness across your neck and shoulders.
Invite yourself to relax as much as possible in this meditation.
Because when the body is relaxed,
The mind can truly receive the signals of change.
Reflect upon your deepest intention in this moment.
Reflect upon your deepest intention for practice,
For meditating,
Your aim or your goal.
What are you seeking?
What do you wish to uncover within yourself?
If you can,
Keep it simple.
Perhaps one word.
This will become your personal affirmation.
You are your wisest teacher and deep down you know what intention or affirmation is best for you.
Once you have your word in mind,
Start to repeat it silently within.
You can add,
May I feel,
And then your word,
Or simply repeat it in a positive manner towards yourself.
You can add,
May I feel,
And then your word,
Or simply repeat it in a positive manner towards yourself.
Repeat silently to yourself,
May I feel,
And your word.
Continue like this with each breath in and with each breath out.
Continue like this with each breath in and with each breath out.
When your mind takes you out of this practice,
Or when you get distracted or you feel tension creeping across your face,
Relax.
And come back to this simple affirmation that you have created just for you.
You can add,
May I feel,
And then your word,
Or simply repeat it in a positive manner towards yourself.
Continue like this with each breath in and with each breath out.
Gently let the mantra fade away and observe how you are right now and how that practice affected you.
Know that every little bit of practice and each time you train your mind to think differently counts.
It all counts.
Work with this mantra whenever possible and change it when you feel the time is right.
Let's finish the meditation with a long cleansing breath.
Thank yourself and thank your mind for all that it is capable of.
Namaste.
