Welcome.
My name is Carolyn Ann Budgel and I'm a yoga and meditation instructor living in Vancouver,
Canada.
Feel free to either sit,
Stand or lie down and get as comfortable as possible as we offer our minds a simple and effective affirmation to refocus whenever we feel anxiety increasing.
Take a few deep breaths and notice how you're feeling right now.
Today's meditation is designed to give your mind a new perspective and new thoughts of possibility and kindness towards the self.
Many of our thoughts have been learned and can be unlearned through the practice of affirmation which is simply repeating a word or a phrase within in order to invite its essence into reality.
I'll share with you some commonly used mantras or affirmations and I'll give you a little bit of time to repeat each one silently to yourself with softness.
May I accept myself just as I am.
Now repeating,
May I be free.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
And lastly,
May I be peaceful.
Let go of trying to do this exercise perfectly and let go of any other preoccupations.
It takes time to change how our minds have been programmed so be soft and patient with yourself.
I'll repeat these phrases once more.
I'd love for you to choose one that best suits you and repeat it silently to yourself for the next minute or so.
May I accept myself just as I am.
May I be free.
May I be loving.
May I be peaceful.
Repeat the right one for you for right now.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
May I be loving.
As we complete our meditation,
Can you make a commitment to repeat this phrase to yourself today?
In situations where you feel old triggers arising or you find that your mind has whisked you away from the present moment.
Thank yourself for making this kind of commitment and taking the time for it.
Namaste.
