At the end of a recent coaching session,
My client said to me,
Cara,
You know,
If I just slept more and drank more water,
It would probably change my life.
Welcome to your Daily Whisper.
I am Cara Bradley.
I'm a mind-body teacher and a well-being and performance coach.
Most importantly,
I'm a fellow human exploring the edges of this life experience,
Looking for answers,
Experimenting,
And trying to understand how to feel my best and unleash my full potential.
I love what this client,
This wise woman,
Said to me.
This bold statement,
And honestly,
This vulnerable statement,
The acknowledging of the obvious,
If I slept more and drank more water,
It would probably change my life.
I spend 80 to 90% of my time coaching,
Building sustainable habits,
Helping my clients understand how to create change and sustain that change to more effectively feel their best,
Perform their best in their life.
And that 80 to 90% of the time is based on six simple pillars that you know and have heard and read about every single day.
Sleep better or more,
Drink more water,
Move your body every day,
Eat real food,
Mostly plants,
Not too much.
As Michael Pollan says,
Manage your relationship with stress and connect with yourself,
With source,
With other.
This isn't complicated,
But yet we look for more.
We look for answers out there when we already know in here what we need to do.
What the world is telling you every single day is what you already know.
It's hidden in plain sight,
My friend.
And this wise,
Courageous woman was willing to admit it to me at the end of our session.
What would change your life if you made a simple shift?
It's most likely not a hack.
It's most likely not a course or a program or a product.
It's most definitely not a quick fix or magical thinking.
And it probably falls under one of these pillars.
Sleep more,
Drink more water,
Eat real food,
Move your body,
Move your body,
Manage stress,
Connect.
What's the first pillar that comes to mind when I read off that list?
Are you willing to be as bold as my client in stating it out loud to yourself,
To someone else,
Or even just to write it down?
What would change your life if you made a simple shift?
Is it sleeping more or better,
Drinking more water,
Moving your body every day,
Eat real food,
Mostly plants,
Not too much,
Manage or change your relationship with stress,
Connect with self,
Source,
And other?
Which one is it?
Are you bold enough and vulnerable enough to admit?
Thank you for listening.
I hope this was helpful.
If it was,
Please consider sharing it with a friend.
They might appreciate it,
And I would too.
Be well.
