Welcome to your morning message.

Cara Bradley here.

I am coming to you in early December.

You may be listening live day to day or perhaps this is a few months later.

It doesn't matter.

What I want to say to you today is something I feel like I have been saying to people,

Students and to myself for over 20 years.

Don't wait until after the holidays to take care of yourself.

Put yourself,

Your health,

Your spiritual well-being first.

Don't let big retailers dictate how you spend the month of December.

That's it.

I've been in the world of fitness,

Health,

Wellness as you know,

In my career for my whole life.

And I have seen this cycle that happens in December where people say over and over again,

After the holidays,

It doesn't matter if you're Christian,

If you're Jewish,

If what you celebrate,

We get caught up in the frenzy of December and we put things off.

We put ourselves off.

Oh,

I'll do that after the holidays.

I'll put myself first after the holidays.

I'll get back to meditation after the holidays.

I'll start my new diet.

I hate that word after the holidays.

Don't do it,

My friend.

Put yourself,

Your health,

Your wellness,

Your curiosities,

Your desires for to feel better.

Absolutely at the top of your list every single day.

Because without that,

There's nothing.

Everything else is diminished.

See through the hype of December.

See through the need to be shopping all the time.

To keep doing traditions that don't mean anything to you anymore.

If they do mean something,

By all means,

Go for it.

But really take note.

Why am I doing this?

Is this necessary anymore?

Is this something I want to do?

And if it's not,

Let it go.

I did it years ago.

I let go of so much.

Oh my gosh.

I think in my 30s,

I used to have this huge list of stuff that I thought I had to do around the holidays.

And I let go so much of it.

And now I just enjoy the month,

The season of light.

It is such a beautiful time to celebrate and be with people.

But if you are carrying a guilt and have tos,

Then you miss it.

And you end up on January 1 with the masses saying,

Okay,

I'm going to start my new healthy regime.

Start today.

Start it today.

Enjoy the festivities.

But catch yourself saying,

I'll do that after the holidays.

Catch yourself.

Go to the class.

You know,

Drop into your writing,

Into your creative expression.

Don't put things off until after the holidays.

I'm coming to you because I have seen it in my business when I owned a yoga studio.

I heard it every day.

I heard it all the time.

What people were putting off until after the holidays.

So there it is.

That's all I have for today.

I wish you a beautiful season of light.

I wish you a joy-filled,

Creative,

Yummy December where you get to take in what you want to take in and let go of the rest.

Let it go.

Put yourself first.

Put yourself first.

Your health is all you've got.

Do not diminish that for the sake of some old tradition that doesn't mean anything to you anymore or causes you unnecessary stress.

I hope this was helpful.

It's a little bit stern and I say it with so much love because I've just seen it in so many people for so long.

We are being guided to think that we need to do more than we actually need to do.

Instead,

Let go,

Enjoy,

Be merry,

And move into the new year feeling your best,

Feeling excited,

So that there's not this massive,

You know,

Half due January 1 energy.

That's all I have.

Much,

Much love to you.

Thank you for listening.

Take a look at the show notes.

Please share this with a friend and finally go out there and shine.
