Welcome to the winter meditation.

This time is just for you.

You have nowhere to go and nothing to do for the next several minutes.

Relax and get comfortable.

Take a moment to arrive.

Breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Allow yourself to fully let go.

Relax your gaze.

Release any tension from your eyes and jaw.

Breathe into your heart.

And as you breathe out,

Soften your heart.

Notice the rise and fall of your abdomen.

With each in-breath and out-breath,

Recognize any tension you may be holding and allow it to melt away.

Visualize energy from the core of the earth coming up through the layers of rock,

Up through the dirt and stones,

Traveling up through the ground,

Into your feet,

And up through your whole body.

Breathe this powerful grounding energy in and allow it to permeate your being.

Imagine white light descending from the cosmos,

Like stardust,

Sparkles,

Twinkles,

And shines.

As it travels down,

It enters the crown of your head and continues down through your body.

Absorb this light into your being,

Filling you up with elevated,

Expansive energy.

You are now rooted in the earth,

Connected to the above,

And can rest in this peace,

Presence,

And power.

Winter marks the time of year where darkness is greater than light.

As the long days of winter wear on,

We remember that all of life starts deep in the darkness,

Whether it's in the womb,

The earth,

Or the cosmos.

Like the seeds that fell in autumn,

We trust the natural forces that work to replenish,

Purify,

And renew us on all levels,

Whether we're consciously aware of it or not.

We acknowledge this power with gratitude and reverence.

Now,

From this state of honor,

Find yourself outside an ancient archaeological site.

It's impressive and stunning.

It's a place of Now,

From this state of honor,

Find yourself outside an ancient archaeological site.

It's impressive and stunning.

You take in the sights and sounds of this place and admire the details of the structure.

Feeling drawn to go inside,

You walk to the entryway,

Cross the threshold,

And enter a warm,

Inviting space.

There's a path ahead of you,

And you follow it down.

It's a well-lit path,

And you notice,

As you walk along,

Sparkly stones glimmer in the earth from the light.

You see petals that have been placed along the path just for you,

Guiding you forward.

You continue on in peaceful anticipation and finally come to an open chamber.

You notice tools are placed nearby and realize it's for your own excavation.

You pick one up and begin digging,

Chiseling away at the earth.

Finally,

You hit something and gingerly scrape and brush the dirt away until you uncover a luminous,

Lustrous stone.

It's gorgeous and glimmers in the light.

You know it's for you,

And you take it with care.

Gaze upon the stone.

What does it look like?

How does it feel?

What is its weight,

Size,

And shape?

You make your way back up,

Keeping the stone safe and secure and ascending the path step by step,

Making your way up,

Up again.

When you reach the entryway,

You step out into the open air once again.

It's time to bring the stone home and find a place to keep it safe.

Maybe on a plush little cushion,

Maybe in a drawer,

In a box,

Or up on a shelf.

Wherever it feels right,

You place it where you will know it will be protected and won't be bothered or disturbed.

You cherish the stone and take care of it.

You know that this stone represents a part of your own life.

Take a moment to ponder that.

What does this stone represent in yourself or your life?

What is it symbolic of?

How does it need to be nurtured and taken care of?

How might this apply to how you or something in your life needs to be nurtured and taken care of?

With this truth now with you,

You are ready to return.

Take a few deep cleansing breaths into your whole body.

Breathe love into your heart and breathe love out of your heart.

As you breathe in,

Out,

Gently,

With honor and gratitude for yourself and the knowledge you now have,

Slowly come back into your body.

Continue to arrive back into this time and space.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Remain silent and feel free to write anything down you may want to remember about this meditation.
