How you speak to and about yourself matters. In this meditation, you get a chance to tune in examine your own self-talk, and notice where there is space for improvement. In this practice, you dedicate a few moments to introspection and reflection. By gently observing your inner dialogue, you become aware of any harsh or self-critical thoughts. This awareness is transformative; it allows you to consciously reframe and replace negative self-talk with self-talk that’s compassionate and kind. When self-talk is compassionate, you become your own source of encouragement and support, fostering a positive mindset that ripples into all aspects of life.

Welcome to today's meditation.

Today's meditation is about self-talk.

The way you speak to and about yourself because that truly does matter.

Go ahead and get comfortable and close your eyes.

Take a deep breath all the way down into your belly,

Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth to start.

Just centering yourself here now.

Let's do a couple more like that.

Deep breath in,

Exhale,

Letting go of all of the stuff you don't need to take with you on your inward journey today.

Feeling the belly expand as you inhale and fall as you exhale.

And then when you're ready,

Allowing the breath to flow in and out of your nose throughout this practice.

Just allowing your breath to flow with ease at whatever pace feels natural to you.

The way you speak to yourself really truly matters and in today's practice I want you to consider you speaking to yourself in a kind and compassionate way.

Just the way you would speak to someone else.

I want you to notice if there is a specific sentence or affirmation that you say a lot to yourself or about yourself that's not very kind or supportive.

Without judgment,

Just notice what that is and then I want you to start to imagine what would it sound like,

Feel like,

Look like if you changed that sentence into a really supportive and compassionate one.

Can you feel that shift?

Is there other things that you say to yourself that feels unkind?

How could you change those sentences into positive supportive ones?

Try it now,

Just in your mind.

As if you're suddenly now showing up here as your own best friend,

Cheering yourself on,

Telling yourself that you are enough,

That you have what it takes,

That you are lovable,

Funny,

Kind,

Whatever it is to you.

Is there something specific in your life,

A situation where you'll be really helpful if you were speaking to yourself in a kind and compassionate way?

Where if you did that now it would feel as if you are cheering yourself on.

How would that change the situation and how could it affect the outcome in a positive way?

Just consider that for a moment.

What is one thing that you could start saying to yourself each day from today that would help improve the self-talk in that area to a positive supportive and compassionate one?

What would you say?

Because we are all powerful and you are capable of changing your mind.

Just the way you created the not-so-kind self-talk,

You can create compassionate and kind self-talk with just a little practice each day.

So what is something kind you can say to yourself today?

The more we say these kind things,

The more real they become because positive affirmations and those kind statements work as direct orders to your subconscious mind.

And through the practice today you have raised your awareness around your self-talk and when you've raised your awareness around something you are able to change it.

So be kind to yourself today.

Enjoy that new positive statement and then when you're ready you can go ahead and take a deep breath in,

Sealing this practice,

Coming to the space you're in and opening your eyes.

Thank you for allowing me to guide you today.
