In this practice,
I will guide you in a gratitude meditation.
You will have the opportunity to think of what you are thankful for in this moment.
Some people judge optimism by if you think the glass is half empty or half full.
I believe true gratitude is being thankful that the glass has water.
As your body finds ease,
Bring your focus to your breath.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and like a crashing wave,
Just let it all out of your mouth with a loud sigh.
One more time.
Thank yourself for making you a priority right now.
How often do you thank yourself?
How often do you say,
You did that.
You showed up today.
Thank you.
On the flip side,
If you do something you aren't proud of,
You're quick to point it out,
To dwell on it,
To let it bring you down.
Start practicing saying thank you to yourself.
For the next moment,
Think of all the things you are thankful for.
Are you thankful for your patience?
How about your growth?
What about your many accomplishments?
If your mind begins to wander,
Just bring it back and remind yourself what you are thankful for.
Take a deep breath and like an ocean wave release it out of your mouth.
Out loud or in your head repeat,
I am thankful for being me.
That's all I need to be.
Again,
I am thankful for being me.
That is all I need to be.
If your eyes have drifted closed,
Gently let them open.
Thank you for taking a breath with me.
