Hi,
This is Brooks.
Thanks for joining me.
Today we're going to talk about your clutter radar.
That's the part of you that lets you know when you're in the presence of clutter.
Now clutter is anything in your life that's no longer serving you.
So it could be a tangible thing,
It could be a particular activity,
It could be a specific relationship,
Business,
Personal,
Intimate,
Family,
And any of these things,
If they don't fit your life,
If they hurt you in one way or another,
They're clutter.
And so we all have a clutter radar that's built into us.
It's really a discriminating part of ourselves that tells us when something is wrong,
Something's awry.
It's an intuitive sense.
It arises,
And it arises as an alert.
It's saying look here.
It illuminates whatever it is our tensions on in the moment.
And we can trust it.
It's an honest voice.
Now we may not be using our clutter radar,
Or we haven't used it for a while perhaps,
So it goes dormant.
But it doesn't mean it's not there.
But talking about it like this,
You know,
Hearing about it,
Knowing that it exists,
Wakes it up.
Just in the few minutes that we're spending here,
Turns that clutter radar on.
So again,
You could be looking at what you're gonna wear today,
Looking at the clothes in your closet,
Or in your trusted drawers.
And all of a sudden you see something and it just jumps out.
It's this feeling of like,
Not that anymore.
That's not part of my life anymore.
It's like a feeling of if you ate a piece of bread and it was stale,
And you spit it out.
So it's all of a sudden there's this recognition,
Not that anymore.
It comes spontaneously.
We don't even have to be looking for clutter,
And that clutter radar can go off.
You could be in the midst of an activity.
Maybe something you've done a number of times.
You never really thought about whether you liked or not,
Or maybe you thought you did like it,
You know,
Or maybe you used to like it.
But all of a sudden you get this recognition,
I don't like doing this.
This isn't enjoyable to me.
I dislike doing this.
You might be surprised at the recognition.
Like,
Oh wow,
That's interesting.
But you can trust that voice.
There's a certainty to it,
And there's a compassion to it.
It's letting you know because it cares about you.
Perhaps you're talking with somebody on the phone or in person,
And you realize I'm getting really tired.
Like,
I feel like I'm getting drained talking to this person.
Or,
You know what,
This person hurts my feelings a lot when they're talking.
There's just that instant recognition.
They say things that hurt me,
You know,
And they've done that before.
I guess all of a sudden now I'm really noticing that.
That's an honest assessment.
It's truth.
It's true because it's coming from you.
It's not from outside of you.
It's part of your natural makeup.
It's that innate part of you.
Like,
You know,
When you're out for a walk,
And you're enjoying your walk,
And all of a sudden you realize there's a stone in your shoe,
And that doesn't feel good.
It hurts.
So you stop,
And you untie your shoe,
And you take it off,
And you tip it upside down,
And the stone comes out.
You see it roll on the ground.
You put your shoe back on,
You tie it,
And you keep walking,
And it feels good to walk again.
That's what this is.
That's the part of you that tells you that something is hurting.
And we can get really caught up in the world.
You know,
That happens sometimes.
We can get overwhelmed with things.
Sometimes the outside world is louder than the inside world.
So we,
You know,
We may not be used to hearing how we feel,
But because I'm talking about this,
Because you're hearing this,
It's waking that part of you up.
That clutter radar is now awake,
And it's ready to do its job,
Whenever and wherever.
It's exciting.
It's exciting to think about that,
Right?
To know that that's inside of you.
That's an innate part of you.
It's part of your machinery.
It's a very compassionate part of your machinery.
It's a loving act.
When the clutter radar shows up,
It comes from love.
So not only are you being notified of something that hurts you,
You're getting to feel self-love in that moment.
Two really good things.
So I'm excited for you.
I'm excited for you,
You know,
This,
You're knowing that this exists,
And that it's awake.
And I'm excited to see what it says,
What it tells you,
How it shows up.
So I wish you the best,
And take care.
Bye.
