Hi,
It's Brooks.
It's good to be here with you.
Thanks for joining me.
Today I would like to talk about and take you through the process of a simpler way to feel peaceful.
So,
I would like to ask you to find a comfortable place to sit,
Or to lie down,
And then close your eyes.
Feel the breath come in,
And the breath go out.
Go out.
The natural flow of breath in and out.
Being aware of your breathing.
I'd like to talk about awareness.
So right now you're aware of your breath.
You're aware of my voice.
You're aware of your body.
Thoughts that come in and out.
You're aware of any sounds in the room.
So you can see that your awareness is constant.
It's always there.
Noticing your breath,
Noticing the thoughts,
The feelings.
And there's something very simple about awareness.
It's present.
And it's open.
It's open to any experience.
There's no personality attached to this real simple awareness.
Because you're aware of your own personality.
You're aware of your feelings.
You're aware of your thoughts.
You're aware of your body.
As well as being aware of my voice,
Any sounds in the room.
So awareness never fluctuates.
It's simple and pure in its reception.
It's pure peace in and of itself.
And that's what allows it to be aware.
To know.
To perceive.
If it was noisy or it was irritated,
It was upset.
If your awareness was any of those qualities,
It can be aware.
So continue to notice with your awareness.
With the awareness.
Any thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations?
The interesting thing is throughout your entire life,
The one thing that's never changed.
Is that you're aware.
Your awareness.
Your body's changed.
Your environment's changed.
The things you think about,
The things you believe,
The things you feel have changed.
Things you like and dislike have changed.
People in your life have changed.
Some have come,
Some have shown up.
But what's always there is that you're aware.
And there's deep,
Deep,
Deep,
Deep peace in that awareness.
Awareness is undisturbed.
It has to be.
To be aware.
And that's the simple peacefulness.
And it's inherent in you.
No matter what you're feeling,
No matter what you're experiencing,
Whether you're well or sick or happy or sad,
Loving,
Angry,
Even feeling connected,
These are things that you're aware of.
So when you need to,
Or when you don't need to,
It can come to you,
You know,
That remembrance.
Oh yeah.
I'm awareness.
I'm aware of whatever's happening right now.
I don't need to try to achieve constant peace outside myself.
It's not possible.
Life moves in extremes.
We can see that from our experience.
Feelings change,
Thoughts change,
Emotions change,
Blood chemistry changes,
Hormones change.
Circumstances in our environment change.
Our body changes.
So change is constant.
But what knows that change?
That which knows the change.
That's that pure awareness.
And that's the place of peacefulness.
The funny thing is it's not really a place because if it was a place you could see it.
So it's beyond time and space.
Because you're aware of time passing.
You're aware of changes happening within the space.
So perhaps awareness is quality-less,
Has quality-lessness to it.
It knows all qualities and its quality-less.
It can't be seen,
But it sees.
And it's what you are.
So we're going to end the meditation now.
You can stretch.
Open your eyes.
Or you can continue to relax in this peaceful place.
Peacefulness.
And I wish you the best.
Take care.
