So sometimes we won't feel like taking care of ourselves,
Whether that's meditating or moving our bodies or getting outside or eating well.
And it's okay to feel that and I'm here to help you let go of that judgment or that pressure that you might put on yourself to do everything quote-quote right because sometimes we just don't feel like it do we?
So this practice is going to help us to let go of those pressures we might put on ourselves.
Just going to help us to have a moment together to tune in to whatever is going on.
So you can do this anywhere,
You might be walking,
You might be sitting or lying down,
You might also still be doing the thing that you were doing before you clicked on this.
Whether that's still doing a little bit of your work or getting distracted by something and I want you to know like you can carry on doing those things that's absolutely okay.
You might also daydream as you listen to this which is also okay.
The first thing I invite you to do if you want to is take some deep breaths and if that feels good you can carry on tuning into the breath or you might want to tune into any sounds you might hear nearby.
Whatever is happening for you is okay.
So maybe sink into that,
Is it the breath,
Is it the daydream you're having or is it some sounds close by?
Sinking into that and knowing that that is okay.
It's also okay to be tired or feel however you feel.
However you're showing up to this is okay.
We're just here to let ourselves show up whatever we look like or feel like today.
Sometimes you might want to be somewhere else or you might want to be doing something else and if that's the case that's also fine there's no need to change anything that's going on.
It's a misconception with mindfulness and meditation that we have to clear our minds when we don't we're here to witness our minds and our urges and what's going on and there's no need to change any of that.
If you're distracted or your mind is thinking about something else or you have urges to do something else then let those be here too.
You might also be present and you might just be here and that's fine.
I often have a busy mind and just listening to someone else talking and guiding me through is really helpful to make me feel present.
I might not be able to hear everything or pick up on everything they're saying but it can just be helpful to focus my attention on something and then I'll get distracted and that's fine.
We're not trying to change you or fix you you're here and that's what counts.
So maybe just take a moment now to tune into the breath or whatever you're doing and then come back to focusing on my voice.
You just let yourself be here however that looks like for you and that is absolutely enough.
So remember it's okay to not feel like it,
It's okay not to show up perfectly and it's okay to take what you need from these practices.
