Proof is reasonable.
Sit still,
Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
Try to breathe in for four counts and out for four counts.
In and out.
You are standing on a beach with tall cliffs at each end.
The waves are rolling gently to the shore,
Tickling your toes,
Soothing your feet.
You can hear sea birds calling to each other.
You can smell the salty sea.
The water looks very inviting.
Wade into the water,
Deeper and deeper,
Until the water is up to your shoulders.
Feel the water washing away your worries and cares.
Go for a swim.
You are perfectly safe here.
Now float on your back and look up at the fluffy white clouds.
Relax.
There is no need to think.
Just float and relax.
Stay safe,
Perfectly relaxed.
You can see in the air a very large seagull.
It is surrounded by golden light from the sun and is circling around you in a golden spiral.
It speaks to you in your mind.
Would you like to fly with me today?
It asks.
If you don't feel like flying today,
Then just continue floating in the sea,
Carefree and calm.
If you would like to go flying with this beautiful creature up into the air above,
Climb onto her back and take off when you are ready.
She spirals upwards.
You may like to fly high,
High into the air or maybe explore the cliffs or fly further out to sea or inward over the land.
Go on an adventure wherever you please with your new friend.
Hurry as a bird.
Your bird friend is telling you that it is time to go back to the beach.
Take your way back now.
Land carefully on the beach.
If you chose not to fly today,
Wade out of the water and stand on the beach.
The sun is warm on your skin and dries you off quickly.
Sit in the sand for a minute.
Just stare out at the waves,
Calm and refreshed.
When you are ready,
Bring your imagination back into your head.
Remember that you are actually sitting on a chair in your classroom.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Stretch your body and open your eyes.
