I'm Stuart Sanderman,
Your Breathing Coach,
And welcome to this holotropic breathwork practice.
This is a powerful practice,
Designed to move energy,
Release emotions,
And connect you deeply to inner knowing.
This is not for beginners,
So if you're new to breathwork or pregnant,
This isn't the practice for you.
Just go and check out some of my other audios here on Inside Timer.
This breathwork practice can bring up strong physical sensations and emotion,
So please make sure you're in a safe,
Comfortable space where you can fully let go,
And if at any time it feels too much,
Just simply stop and return to gentle nasal breathing.
Remember,
You are always in control,
But a part of this practice is also letting go of control.
Holotropic breathwork is an open-mouth breath practice,
Which allows a larger volume of air to move in and out quickly,
And helps create the expanded awareness experience that holotropic breathing is known for.
In holotropic breathwork,
There's no pause between inhale and exhale,
So it's an active in-breath through your mouth,
And a passive relaxed out-breath through the mouth.
So in,
And out,
And this mouth breathing helps maintain that smooth,
Continuous flow without resistance.
So it's in,
And out,
Active inhale,
Passive exhale,
Good.
Holotropic breathwork is a circular,
Connected rhythm,
So there's no pause between in-breath and out-breath.
After about three minutes of this style of breathing,
We're going to make some sound and movement.
The sound will help you release any tension in your body,
And shift your energy even more.
So get yourself comfy,
Lie on your back,
Just relax here for a moment.
Close your eyes,
Let your whole body be heavy and relaxed,
Just sinking into the ground beneath you.
And to begin,
Let's start with two grounding breaths.
With these breaths,
Let's open up the sections of your breath.
So breathe in through your nose,
And breathe in all the way down to the base of your spine,
And open from there.
So breathe into your pubic bone,
Your hips,
Your belly button,
Side ribs,
Midsection,
And then expand into your chest.
A bit more air at the top,
And breathe out through your mouth,
Let everything relax and soften.
Good,
And again,
Open up those sections,
Slow and gentle,
Base of the spine,
Pubic bone,
Hips,
Belly button,
Side ribs,
Midsection,
Feel the back expand.
And now up into your chest,
A bit more air at the top,
And breathe out,
Relaxing fully.
Now you're grounded,
I'd like you to imagine a warm,
Healing light shining down on you.
Soothing,
Nurturing light.
This light is pure consciousness,
Pure potential.
So just bathe in this light,
And now take a breath of light into your nose.
Hold it there,
Let it settle in your heart,
Allow it to glow from the inside out,
And ask yourself,
What am I holding onto right now that I need to release?
Using that as our intention,
And breathe out,
And again,
Breathe in,
Hold there and ask yourself,
What would I like more of?
And breathe out,
So what am I holding onto that I need to release,
And what would I like more of,
As our intention questions.
Now that they're set,
Let's move into our infinity breath,
Holotropic breathing pattern.
So it's connected in and out through the mouth without any pauses.
Remember,
This is powerful,
And if it ever feels too intense,
Return to gentle nose breathing,
Or stop altogether.

Breathe in deeply through your mouth,
Feel your belly rise,
Let the breath fall out through your mouth,
Relax,
Let go,
Good,
In and out,
Keep that rhythm,
In and out,
In and out like waves,
Keep it flowing,
You may feel some tingling,
And that's okay,
Your temperature may change,
Just let it flow,
You may feel some buzzing and sensation in your body,
Just relax into it,
And if emotions rise,
Give them their space,
Let them shift and flow,
Trust your breath.
So keeping with this practice,
In and out,
Breathing in energy,
Releasing any stress,
It's safe to open your heart,
Safe to let go of the past,
Safe to feel what you need to feel,
I love and forgive everyone,
I love and forgive myself,
Keep with it,
I release my trusts,
I trust the flow of life,
Trust the flow of breath,
All the love the universe has,
There's trust and surrender,
Every out breath sinking deeper and deeper,
I move forward with an open heart,
To this source energy,
Pure consciousness,
Being open to receive guidance,
Being open to receive love,
Okay let's go for three more breaths,
Fully in and out,
Okay deep breath in,
And on your out breath let out a long clear ah sound as you drum your hands and feet,
Good really release through this sound and movement,
That's it,
Good and again deep breath in,
Let it go,
And just relax here,
Allow your breath to soften and come back to its natural rhythm,
And close your mouth,
Breathe through your nose,
Let your body melt into the ground,
Stay here in stillness,
Let your mind drift,
This is where the integration happens,
Where the energy you've moved settles into balance,
So being open to receive anything you need,
Being open to receive guidance,
Awareness,
Insight,
Being open to receive any gifts that you need at this point in time,
So slowly bringing some awareness back into your body,
And dropping from your head into your heart,
Feeling into your body,
Into this moment,
Into your life,
Ask yourself what am I grateful for in this moment,
What are you grateful for today,
And when you feel ready bring some movement back into your fingers and toes,
All your shoulders,
This in your neck,
Take your time,
This practice can move some powerful energy,
So take as long as you need,
And thank yourself for showing up today and for doing this deep work,
Let's take a final grounded breath in,
Slow breath out,
