I am made of love.
I am made to love.
I am made to be loved.
I am made of love.
I am made to love.
I am made to be loved.
These three sentences encompass all of the love for ourselves,
For others,
And what is cultivated and created within us.
You have found yourself here on this meditation for a journey of self love.
And we can start by ensuring that we are in a comfortable place for this meditation,
Either sitting upright in a chair or on the meditation cushion.
If it feels more comfortable for you,
You can also lie down.
This meditation is about you.
So whatever feels most needed for you and for your body right now,
It's a moment to give it to yourself.
No judgments,
No guilt,
Just feelings of acceptance and love.
Now I would invite you to close your eyes.
And we'll start with a small body scan.
Closing off our eyes,
We close off the visual sensory impressions that our eyes give us in this world.
So we bring ourselves deeper inside.
And now gently bring your awareness to your shoulders.
Maybe you want to roll them down back and front.
And as you exhale,
Release any tension you feel that you're holding in your shoulders.
And we slowly move down to our torso and our hips.
And I release any tension that I feel that I'm holding.
Next,
Bring your awareness to your legs,
To your knees,
To this large part of our body that holds us up during the day,
Moves us around.
And allow yourself to release tension in this area.
And bring your attention to your arms,
Your elbows,
And your forearms,
And your wrists,
And your hands.
And allow yourself to release any tension that you might be holding here.
And bring your attention to your feet,
And your ankles,
And your toes.
And with an exhale,
Release any tension.
And now bring your attention to your face.
Releasing any tension in your eyebrows or your cheeks.
Some of us tend to grip our cheeks and our jaw clenched together.
So release your jaw,
The clench in your mouth.
You can remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth to relax your jaw even further.
You can move your jaw side to side.
Many of us also hold tension in our jaws.
So this is time for us to intentionally release the tension.
And now that we've brought our attention into our body,
We are going to bring attention to our breath.
Our breath has been breathing in and out for us without any attention or awareness.
So now with your gentle focus,
I invite you to bring your attention to your breath.
Feel where your breath is in your body.
Feel where there may be some points of tension in your breath.
And just notice how the breath moves through your body,
Through your belly,
And through your chest,
Through your nose,
Maybe through your mouth.
Maybe you notice that on the inhale,
Your belly slightly increases,
Allowing for more air to come into your body.
And on the exhale,
Your chest and your belly decrease as the air is moved out of your body.
With this gentle awareness,
We slowly start to deepen our breath,
Deepening our inhales and lengthening our exhales.
And as we come to our breath,
We are reminded of the beauty of our breath.
Breathing flawlessly in and out for us all day and all night.
And this brings a sense of gratitude.
And maybe we can even cultivate a sense of love for our breath and for the relationship that we have with our breath.
I am made of love.
I am made to love.
I am made to be loved.
We are all made of love.
And our lungs and our heart and our nervous system and our respiratory system,
All of the elements that make it possible for us to breathe,
Also make it possible for us to love.
And just slowly increase the attention that you have on your breath.
Again,
Deepening the inhale and lengthening your exhale.
With each in and out breath,
You are cultivating a sense of love for yourself and for your body.
You have taken these moments to cultivate this sense of love and to take this time solely for yourself so that you can love,
Love one another,
Love our children,
Love our parents,
Love our grandparents,
Our friends,
Our planet.
And so often we love others and we forget to also love ourselves.
And in this meditation,
I invite you to channel all of this love to yourself.
You are made to be loved.
And if it feels comfortable for you,
You can bring one or two hands to your heart,
One hand over the other and feel the warmth created in your heart space by this love.
I am made of love.
I am made to love.
I am made to be loved.
You can bring yourself back to this place of love at any moment during the day.
Holding your hand on your heart or just imagining this feeling and the warmth that can be created inside by this love.
And I want to thank you for taking the time to love yourself today and also for the love that you give others.
Because it is this love that fuels our energy,
Gives us nourishment and joy and happiness.
And so I hope that you can take this love away.
Keep it for yourself and also share some with others.
And for each sound of the bell to end this meditation,
You can imagine the words,
I am made of love.
I am made to love.
I am made to be loved.
And may you now go beautifully about your day with love.
