Good evening and tonight we're gonna really allow ourselves to be held and comforted by the support of our bed physically and the support emotionally and the interconnectedness that we might have with others that are sleeping right at this moment.
So first begin by feeling the support of your bed.
It means feeling the parts that you are physically connected to.
Feeling your body on your bed and on the sheets.
Feeling your head on the pillow,
Whether that's on your ear,
Maybe that's the back of your head.
Feeling the softness of the pillow.
Feeling your toes,
Your legs,
Your torso relaxing on the sheets.
Allow your body to be really heavy,
All the weight to start to come down.
And noting the levels of support that you are on.
Your body is supported by the mattress,
The mattress supported on the box spring,
The box spring supported on the bed frame.
Whether you have a headboard or not,
Imagine the four corners that are on the ground supporting you as well.
And if your mattress is on the floor in what I like to call a nested position,
Feel what it's like to be so close to the ground,
So close to that support.
Now as you feel this,
Gently find your inhale and find your exhale.
Find the space that each breath brings with each inhale and release and relaxation with each exhale.
Continuing that,
Also noting that we're in this physical support of your bad,
But there's also an emotional support as well.
Your bed supports your dreams,
At least the ones that you have at night.
But also sleep is one of the three main determinants of our emotional and our physiological state.
And it's that deep rest,
That first restoration,
Maybe allows us to pursue our other dreams when we wake up.
Or maybe just allows us to live our lives with greater awareness,
Greater purpose.
So breathe into that emotional support that this space is bringing to you.
We're going to move to really allowing your whole body to start to breathe as one.
Just imagine your whole body breathing in,
Whole body breathing out.
And it's as if every pore of your body were breathing in,
Every pore of your body was breathing out.
Feel that rhythm for a few rounds.
And now beginning to feel as if though the bed is breathing with you.
So it's as if you and the bed were breathing in as one unit,
Breathing out together as one.
And on each exhale,
Allow your body,
Allow the bed to further come into the support that it rests on.
So feeling this oneness with this place of rest and working now to connect to the oneness of us and others that might be having this experience around the world at this very moment.
There are so many others right now that are going to sleep or sleeping or trying to fall asleep.
There are those that might be suffering with insomnia or just having a tough time with anxiety.
And from this place of comfort,
From your space of sleep,
Send them some words of encouragement.
Maybe you know what it feels like to not be able to fall asleep.
Send those people,
All those people out in the world that might need some of that extra care.
They need some of the calm that you're sending out.
I'd like you to also feel that each person out there in the world is sending that back to you.
And they are supporting your sleep as well and they want you to feel rested and relaxed and restored to do your work and to live your life.
Allow this incredible sense of being held and supported with all of these other people that are out there in the world.
Allow that support to deepen you into your bed to relax your muscles in the body.
With each breath continue to sink in knowing that you are cared for and you are supported both physically and emotionally.
So continue to breathe here.
Sinking in with each breath out.
