Hello,

Welcome.

This is Lou.

As always,

Thank you so much for choosing to practice with me.

This practice was inspired by something else that I shared on Insight Timer.

I might have mentioned it in my second poem made this way,

But the first poem,

Greatness is a Whisper,

That I shared,

I was just really surprised and shocked at the response and how much that it connected with you all and it connected with people and similarities in their own journey that were the same as within mine.

And it was more proof for me that what our job is on this path is really learning how to get out of our own way.

How can we get out of our own way and let what wants to come through out of us?

Because that is what that poem was for me.

I wasn't judging it,

I wasn't critiquing it as it was coming out,

I was letting it move through and it took a while for me to even want to share it on here,

Which is another step of letting it move through.

Like let it out,

Let it out into the world,

Let people hear it.

But so often we get so stuck in our small mindedness,

We get so stuck in our doubts and our fears that we don't let things out.

We think it's safer to just keep it in.

And so a lot of our meditation practice is learning how to let it out,

How to let it move through you.

And that idea of letting it move through you is both in positive but it's also in our negative,

Right?

How can we be with a negative experience?

How can we be with a negative feeling in our body?

And how can just by being with it,

How can we let it just move through us knowing that everything is going to take its course?

So I love this concept of letting it move through you both for positive and negative.

So today that's kind of what we're gonna practice and work with.

So go ahead and let us just simmer and start to go ahead and take your movements and settle into your body,

Settle into whatever space you are in today.

And finding that centered place within.

Sometimes we need to move,

Sometimes we need to kind of extend and soften different parts of our body to get there.

And simply allowing the natural movements to take its course until you can finally come to a still point for your practice.

Right away there's this element that is continually moving through us.

That we're without even thinking about it,

Thinking about it,

Letting it move through.

And that is our breath.

So already with that intention of feeling it moving through us,

Let's take a minute here and find our rhythm of our inhales and our exhales,

Feeling as the breath comes in and out and through our bodies.

And always if it helps you're welcome to note inhaling on your inhale and exhaling on your exhale.

Just taking a moment to feel the expansiveness and the contraction of each breath.

And starting to shift our awareness away from the breath and seeing if we can attune to the cells in our body.

Coming into the finer energies within us,

The cells that are constantly just moving in us and through us without us even even realizing it.

And see if that awareness maybe shifts anything or maybe it doesn't but it's taking a minute or so here attuning and connecting to that internal movement within our body.

And then if it's difficult to connect maybe with the cells maybe going into kind of our heart and any any movement or feelings that we hear or feel going on in our body.

And let's go ahead and take a breath in together.

Let that go.

And let's attune and stay with our bodies and see if we can just bring to our awareness any part of our body that might still be feeling a little bit tense or maybe just a little bit unpleasant.

So it might be something from an injury or something that you're currently working with maybe it's just a tension in your hips or your neck.

It might be an unpleasant inner unpleasantness or an unease in your in your stomach or smell or odor something that just is some sort of discomfort.

I want you to find that part of your body see if you can just bring your awareness to it without needing it to go away just being aware and being with the sensation or this discomfort for just a moment or two.

No need to react or anything.

First just sensing what it's like to be with it and to take a few breaths.

And then seeing if we can invite in the intention for our practice.

What does it feel like to let it move through?

And maybe it's not ready to move right now but maybe as you feel kind of that that sense of ease of letting it just be there and run its course notice if there's any shift in relationship or just shifting overall how you're feeling.

With each breath letting this energy move through.

It's another moment here.

We're gonna move away from our physical body.

Kind of do the same practice and thinking more in a emotional moment.

So I'd like you to think of a time in your life that you are triggered with some sort of discomfort.

It might be a feeling of anger,

Feeling of doubt,

Sadness.

Maybe it's something that you're you're dealing with right now.

You can either go into a past experience or maybe foresee one that may come in the future.

And then first finding where this emotion might be feeling in the body.

So noticing if it's having any effect.

It might not.

And just as we did with the physical body first just taking a breath to be with it.

And then inviting that same intention.

Are we able to let this emotion not trigger and cause us to react but just let this emotion move through us.

Let it be and do what it needs to do.

It can just move through.

I'm gonna share a few words that you're welcome to repeat out loud to yourself.

You're welcome to just listen as I share them.

Feeling and thinking about this emotion as you do.

I have the tools to be with this.

I am so strong.

By being with this I am growing.

I can do this.

I am capable of so much more than I think.

And maybe repeating one of those if it feels right.

And let's take a breath in and let it go.

It's really fascinating that it's maybe equally as difficult to allow our pain to move through as it is to allow our inspiration to move through.

Maybe it's even more difficult actually to allow our inspiration move through because often with the pain it's like we have no choice.

We have to let it move through.

But the inspiration we always can defer.

Say oh maybe maybe next year I'll do that.

Oh maybe sometime in the future.

Oh it doesn't feel right right now.

Oh it's not ready.

Oh it's not perfect.

And we can use these excuses over and over.

And no matter what our age or talent there is this stream of energy that is helping us to express ourselves.

We are all artists in our own way and it's our life that really becomes our canvas as we continue to learn how to get out of our own way.

And we don't exactly have to know what that energy and what that art looks like.

But we have to practice letting it move through us.

Letting it out where it wants to be.

So we're going to do this through a little visualization practice.

So I'd like you to go ahead and bring your energy and your awareness into your mind's eye.

In the space in between the brow.

I'd like you to bring to mind a hallway.

Just a long hallway.

And just noticing whatever hallway comes to mind.

Maybe it's a hallway that's familiar or it might be something that just that comes to mind out of nowhere.

And I'd like you to,

Once you got the visualization,

Just start to walk down this hallway.

And as you walk I'd like you to feel as if though you're walking into a wind tunnel.

So with each step you can feel like there's this resistance.

That the energy is actually moving the other way.

The wind's in your face.

Just notice how it feels to walk down this hallway in this wind.

Just for a few breaths here.

And as you walk I'd like you to see on the on the walls of the hallway are all of these shoulds that maybe you have taken in.

Sometimes we think we should be at a specific point in our life.

We should have this job.

We should have this amount of money in the bank.

We should have this relationship.

All of these shoulds that society and our culture maybe puts on us.

As you walk notice if there's any that you see that are specific to you.

Anything that you would let kind of a should into your life.

And just notice how it feels to look at that and continue to walk into this wind tunnel.

And continue to walk until you notice at the end of the hallway is a door.

And on this door I get to stop before it because what you see this door reads this is what's holding you back.

Take a moment.

Let me just imagine what that could be before opening it.

Let me take a breath.

And then when you feel ready go ahead and open this door.

And as you do what you see is a mirror.

And you are looking directly into your eyes.

And you realize that it's not these shoulds.

It's not other people.

It's not my circumstance.

The only thing that is holding you back are the mountains that you and I tend to make up in our minds.

It's that we buy in and believe other people's scripts.

Other people's explanations of how we should be doing things.

So just take a moment here and notice whatever you're feeling.

Kind of see yourself and maybe have some resistance to coming to this feeling like we're the only ones that are holding us back.

And then when it feels right go ahead and close the door and turn around.

Just take a few steps down the hallway until you see a door on the right side on the wall.

I'd like you to go ahead and walk into this door into this room.

I'd like you to think of this room kind of as your introspection room.

The place where you can think about you know what are the thoughts what is the mindset that's holding you back.

And we're gonna practice hopefully coming to that and then leaving that mindset in this room.

What are these thought patterns that are holding you back?

Is it a form of insecurity,

Of blame,

Resentment,

Fear?

You know whatever it is is true for you and see if you can see these energies or these emotions these thought patterns represented by people maybe in the room that reflected to you who bring that up in your life or maybe there's pictures or maybe just kind of energies in the room.

So see if you can see that the room fills up with all of the physical representations of this in your life.

Maybe each breath kind of letting these thought patterns themselves move through and out of you.

Putting that insecurity into this room putting the fear into this room letting it come out.

With each breath practice releasing it.

And if it feels okay I'd like you to affirm to yourself I am enough.

I am worthy.

I am powerful.

I am willing.

And as you continue to let this go see if you can make peace with this feeling and this idea that really that these energies want the best for you that all is working for you so you can come to this point to release them and let them move out so you can move on with your life.

And when you feel complete I'd like you to look at all of these energies in the room all of these thought patterns and go ahead and thank them for what they've shown you.

And then come back and out of the room into the hallway and I'd like you to continue down the hall.

Only this time you see there's nothing on the hallway walls it's a clean slate for you there's no shoulds.

And feel what it's like to have the wind at your back.

Stepping forward and maybe not knowing exactly where you're going knowing that it feels like instead of a push it's almost like you're being pulled.

And continue on to the opposite end of this hallway till again you see another door.

And on this door reads this is what's gonna show you the way.

In a way maybe you can read that this is your saving grace this is your Savior.

And I could go ahead and open the door and again you see another mirror.

And showing you again that yes you are in your way but you are also your way out.

You are in control of your life.

Can you take a breath here?

Is there a way that you can breathe that in and embody that sense of empowerment towards yourself that yes you can show your own way.

Your only job is to trust to trust in your own greatness and let what wants to come out through you.

Maybe you don't know what that is maybe you do.

Regardless I'd like you to maybe think of if there is a higher power a God the universe source your higher self there is something higher that you do connect with you try to connect with at least.

I like you to invite this mantra of just I trust I trust I trust.

Just repeat that silently to yourself out loud.

And when you feel ready I'd like you to show that trust let that power move through and step into the mirror.

And when you do I like you to imagine yourself stepping out into the mirror and into this beautiful sea of bright white light.

Imagine yourself floating.

Feeling like the energy is just coming in and constantly moving through expressing yourself and in this white light it will show you the next step.

It will show you the next door that you have to move through the next feeling of excitement the next inspiration that comes to you I want you to remember and trust this expansive white light feeling.

The world needs your gift.

Let it move through.

And slowly begin to come back into your body come back into your room.

Whenever you feel ready you can open your eyes.

I thank you so much for allowing me the space and the attention for what wants to come through me and out and I know that that there is that same energy within you.

So we need your gift.

I'd love to hear what that inspiration or creative spark that you feel is so please feel free to comment on what that is and I'd love to to engage and hear of what's what's inspiring you and hope that I can support that in any way that I can.

As always much much much much love and namaste.

Good morning Lou, wow! This meditation brought me to tears. I’m so hard on myself. I’m especially hard on myself when I’m around other people. I look to there facial reactions or their body language to see if I’m doing OK. I feel like the Terminator scanning my universe for validation. lol. When I looked in the last mirror, I saw myself and every person in my life, alive and passed, who love me just the way I am. Including spiritual figures like Jesus and mother Mary. I felt so excepted and loved that my whole body relaxed. As I step into this new chapter of my life with the passing of my husband I have some bold moves. I want to make. And I am scared even paralyzed to try these new things. I have friends, encouraging me to be come, and insight timer teacher. They say my story, and my journey is inspirational. But my fear says, what if I am rejected by people? What if I am criticized? Phew! I didn’t know I was going to say all that here. But it helps to say it. Thanks for listening. I’ll keep you posted on my journey. 🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️🌸🌸🌸

Thank you Lou, for sharing your gifts, for letting this come through you. I connected to what has been holding me back in such a beautiful way, gracefully, in a way where my commitments to write and share my message is now ready to come through me. And that I am actually more committed to this than to the old paradigm of doubt and “am I good enough.” Thank you so much brother.
