Embracing the Present Moment
by Lou Redmond
The first step to personal growth and evolution is to ground and embrace where you are in this present moment.

Welcome to day one of the Embrace,
Empower and Evolve meditation series.
Day one is about grounding into the moment,
Grounding into where we are embracing where we currently are on our own life's journey.
So go ahead and find your comfortable meditation posture,
Sitting,
Standing,
Lying down.
Bring your hands gently touching your knees or your body.
And I invite you to start taking some inhales slowly through the nose and exhaling them out and through the mouth.
Starting to find our breath,
Find a peace in our meditation space.
Now as you breathe a little deeper,
Feel the chest expand outwards and as you breathe out,
Feel yourself grounding and rooting a little bit stronger into your chair or seat.
This first meditation is about grounding and embracing where you are.
So those are the two words I want you to keep in your mind as you breathe,
Finding that natural breath,
Just letting yourself breathe in a little more expansive air.
And breathe out,
Feeling your body grounding,
Rooting a little bit stronger to the ground.
I think we all feel like we should be further along than we are.
We all want things to come faster,
Want life to happen for us quicker.
So often we're so focused on those future outcomes that we don't have full embrace.
We don't really understand how far we have come and how perfect you are in this moment.
Take a moment right now and as you breathe,
Embrace where you are,
Whether you like it or not,
Embrace it.
We can't change where we are in this moment,
But we can look at it with love and with this embrace and really owning it,
Taking responsibility in a good way.
Wherever you are right now is exactly where you are supposed to be.
And the fact that you are listening to this right now,
You know that there's a little more for you too.
But right now as you breathe,
Breathe in a little more of that expansive energy and breathe down and ground a little more firmly,
Feeling that embrace,
Embracing yourself to the ground,
Embracing yourself to the chair.
I invite you to go back into your past.
Maybe it's this past year.
Maybe it's this past few months.
Maybe it's the past week.
Maybe you think of a situation in your life that's helped you get to where you are.
Maybe you graduated college and got a certain job.
Maybe a relationship came into your life that has really brought you some joy.
Take a moment to show some gratitude for this situation.
Show some gratitude for a person,
For your past,
Whatever is coming up for you.
As you breathe,
Notice what you feel.
Notice how this situation,
How this person has brought you such a blessing.
And become grateful.
Show thanks.
There's always so much in our lives to be grateful for.
Think of something that maybe you take for granted.
Maybe it's being able to drive off the highway and easily have a meal.
The access to food we are blessed with.
Embracing the good.
Embracing what life has already given us,
The people,
The relationships.
That is where abundance comes from.
It's embracing where we are,
Embracing what we have and feeling truly good,
Truly filled in this moment where we are,
Not needing to look outside ourselves.
Continue to breathe in.
A little more embracing,
A little more gratitude.
And as you breathe out,
Just continue to ground yourself into this space.
We are really getting ourselves planted,
Embracing and ready to receive because only from a strong root,
Just like a tree,
We are building our deep roots.
So that when we grow tall,
We can stand tall.
Now there's something in the past that may have come up.
Maybe it's a little harder to be grateful for.
Maybe it's something that you're working to move past.
Maybe it's old emotions that you don't want to have come up,
Anxieties.
Maybe a negative experience.
To embrace where we are,
To embrace our journey fully,
We must let go of some of those things that just are no longer serving us.
So as you breathe,
Allow whatever comes to mind that you would like to let go of in this moment.
Maybe it's judging other people.
Maybe it's feeling that you're not enough.
Maybe it's an old relationship that just keeps coming up in your mind and makes you feel bad or jealous.
Whatever it is for you,
Breathe in some expansive breath.
And as you breathe out,
Just let it go.
Let it go and let yourself ground and root and truly embrace where you are.
Releasing,
Letting go.
As you breathe,
Continue to feel that.
Feel that release.
Continuing to keep on your mind that embracing,
That grounding.
Breathing and rooting.
Knowing that you are right where you're meant to be.
Feeling that perfectness of where you are,
Fully embracing.
See if you can continue to embrace this moment,
Embrace where you are in your life.
Because once you see how perfect it is,
You can go forth and create a really wonderful life.
And whenever you're ready,
Start bringing some movement back into your body.
Maybe feel your hands twisting,
Giving some life back into your fingers.
And whenever it feels right to you,
Go ahead and open your eyes.
Come back to this space.
And I look forward to you,
Guiding you on the next session.
Namaste.

Perfect... continuous talking but very effective and well done... must do this a few more times and could become regular... end snuck up on me so I'd love for it to go longer. A longer version for when I have the time or the need would be wonderful. I'm sure there will be those who agree. Embrace this one.
