Resting in God's presence.

Understanding God is such a big part of the spiritual path.

Because in order to find lasting peace and happiness,

We need to understand what is true and real,

What is constant,

And what is temporary,

What is untrue or illusory.

And a big part of that is understanding what is God,

And understanding that He,

Although God doesn't really have a gender,

But let's call Him He,

Because religions call Him He.

Because He is always,

Always here.

So in this meditation we will find that,

We will experientially understand what God is and isn't,

And rest in this presence that is always here and always available.

Whenever you are ready let's take a deeper breath in and close our eyes.

And just be present here with your experience as it is.

Notice the breath coming in and out.

Notice sensations in your body and thoughts appearing in your mind.

Notice that there is a presence,

A being within which all of this appears.

There is a stillness that is in the background of all of these experiences.

The stillness is often reached in deep states of meditation and prayer.

It is this asking of a higher will to come and help us in a specific situation or circumstance.

In order to do that we need to know that it is possible for this to happen.

We need to be open to this possibility and have faith that what we call God can indeed help us and is here.

What happens in the mind and the body when we have this faith,

This knowing,

This trusting in a higher being,

Is that we allow ourselves to relax,

To be more present,

To be more accepting,

To trust,

To let go of finding this solution ourselves.

And the more we have faith,

The more we ask,

The more we come to this stillness and the more our faith grows and the more we see results in the world.

In this way the universe or life itself is guiding us towards the understanding of God.

And as our faith grows,

So do the thoughts,

The thoughts that we have,

The thoughts that we have,

The thoughts that we have,

And as our faith grows,

So do the moments where we reach this deeper stillness,

This deep peace that is within all of us.

The more we rest in this stillness,

This peace,

The more we understand that it is the constant in all of our experience.

God is the constant.

Understanding this means that we are now in this state of being.

Understanding this means that we are now looking from the perspective of the constant to the perspective of the temporary.

So we are resting in the presence and we are looking at what is arising.

We are looking at thoughts,

Feelings,

Circumstances,

World situations,

Knowing that they are temporary,

That they are an expression of this infinite and ever-present beingness.

And then at one point in the journey,

There comes the question,

Is my being finite and temporary like my thoughts,

My feelings?

And we try to find a limit to our own being.

And we do so by asking questions such as,

Is there anything that my being or my awareness would say no to?

Maybe my mind will dislike something,

But I allow it,

My awareness allows it to appear,

I am aware of it.

We ask questions such as,

Is my awareness different to the awareness of other people?

And even though it seems like it is,

After exploring this deeply enough,

We recognize that it isn't.

My being is the same as everyone else's being.

In other words,

We share our being or the same beingness is expressed in this billions of forms,

Billions of minds and bodies that we are.

And this recognition clarifies phrases such as,

I and my father are one.

There is no separation between God's being and my being,

In fact it is the same beingness.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

Slowly the identification with a separate body-mind begins to fade and the body-mind starts to align with the understanding that who I am,

Who we all are,

Is love,

Is acceptance,

Is freedom.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

And we begin to see nothing but God in every situation,

In every person,

In everything.

We see what is true and constant and real.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

You are the same.

With these words I will end the meditation here,

So whenever you are ready you can take a few deeper breaths in,

Maybe stretch your body and open your eyes.

You are the same.
