You may have noticed that I always start my courses and my events with a return to presence,
To our true self.
To knowing our essential self as this awareness which allows everything to be exactly as it is.
I thought I would create a recording to explain in more details why that is.
When we first start meditating,
We experience a sense of peace,
Of presence,
Which we have maybe not experienced before.
We don't make much of it,
However,
And we continue about our days forgetting about this peace that we have found.
At some point,
We decide that meditation is good for us,
So we do it for 10 minutes every day.
The more we do it,
The more we experience this peace and this presence,
And the more we want to experience it.
Slowly but surely,
The message lands that this presence is what we have been looking for all along.
It is not joyful,
It is not blissful,
It is not happy in the sense that the mind expects.
Rather,
It is still,
It is peaceful,
It simply is.
So it takes time to realize that this is actually what we have wanted all along.
Eventually,
We begin questioning our very identity.
If there is a space that just witnesses our thoughts and emotions,
Then who are we,
Really?
Then we let the mind really turn inwards and explore this very awareness.
Once we find it to be boundless,
Ever-present,
Changeless,
All-allowing and all-accepting,
We come to realize that everything is an expression of this same beingness,
This same presence.
There is nothing outside of it.
And since that is the case,
Everything that we experience is made of this same essence,
This same substance that is not a substance.
That is when we recognize that acceptance,
Love,
Freedom,
Abundance,
Success,
All of these things are inherently ours.
There is nothing to chase,
Nothing to seek.
Everything we want is already here.
And with this recognition,
All of our attachments to the world fall away.
Of course,
We may still receive a lot from the world,
We may find our life partner,
We may discover ways of making money that flow easily,
We may come across tools,
Diets and practices that help the body be healthier and live longer.
But none of these things matter.
We have found lasting peace and happiness already.
Whether they come or they go,
It doesn't change anything.
And that is why it is the most important part of anything that I share,
To know yourself as this very presence and awareness within which everything arises and out of which everything is made.
Thank you.
