How to flow with life.
Especially in psychology there is this concept of flow that is very interesting for people.
And so in today's meditation I'll try to demystify it a bit because we think that flow is somehow extraordinary that it's something that happens every now and then that it's hard to get to and it's something that we should strive towards.
So in this meditation we will find that actually being in flow is our most natural and effortless state of being.
And we will also recognize that being in flow is not only good for us but it is also good for everyone around us.
So whenever you're ready let's take a deeper breath in and close our eyes.
And you can begin to notice the flow of breath going in and going out.
Breathing is not something we do,
It's automatic,
It's always there.
You And with the breathing the rest of the body flows as well,
The heart beats.
The skin opens and closes its pores.
The air flow around the body moves.
You you In the same way there are sensations in our bodies that move and change.
And that just happens.
You you Based on our past and our upbringing and what we have learned and explored,
There are also thoughts that flow through our minds.
Again there is no doer here,
These thoughts just appear in our awareness.
You you And who we are,
Awareness itself,
Simply observes all of this unfolding and embraces it as it is.
You It does not distinguish between a good thought,
A bad thought,
A good feeling and a bad feeling,
It simply accepts everything,
Flows with everything.
Indeed actually everything flows in it,
In awareness.
You you you So the way to be in flow with life always is to remind ourselves of this,
That we are already and always in flow.
To notice that we are not thoughts that say something needs to be changed,
That we are not the tense feelings that give rise to such thoughts.
But rather that these things effortlessly arise and fade,
Begin and end in awareness.
Being in flow means holding on to nothing.
It simply means being present.
You you And when we are present,
We have desires,
Things we want to do.
And we can do them with presence.
So being in flow is not a unique and temporary experience that happens every now and then.
Being in flow is loving all of life,
The successes as well as the more what the mind would call more mundane things such as cleaning or going to the shops.
Being in flow is remaining present with every experience.
You you And that is inevitably the best thing to do for everyone else because we show them in every moment that every part of life is beautiful.
We show them that it's possible not to divide things into good and bad,
Into success and failure,
Into mundane and interesting.
We show them that they too can flow with life and are in fact flowing in life even if they don't consciously know it yet.
We show them that they are in fact flowing in life even if they don't consciously know it yet.
When there is nothing to change or fix,
There is only flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
There is no way to be out of flow.
Funnily enough,
Then flow is stillness.
Flow is finding the stillness that we are and within which movement appears and resting,
Remaining as this stillness throughout all of our activities.
Funnily enough,
Then flow is stillness.
You you you you whenever you're ready you can take a few deeper breaths,
Maybe stretch your body a bit and come back to the space you're in
