Well,
Let's take a deep breath in and just smile at whatever thoughts arise in the mind,
Knowing that they may appear serious or funny or be about the future or the past,
But when we smile at those thoughts,
It's like the body remains as the true self,
The awareness,
The witnessing presence,
Which knows that in infinity time is a fleeting nothingness.
So,
Of course,
Nothing is serious and then the mind can be allowed to come up with things and then to kind of expand the space or realign also the mind with this deeper awareness or knowing.
We can just grab one of these thoughts that appear,
Maybe repeat it a few times,
Notice the speed at which we repeat it,
Then just taking the first word and adding a pause between this first word and the second word,
Second word,
And then just repeating the first two words of the sentence,
Even if they don't make sense together or incomplete,
The first word,
Pause,
Second word,
First word,
Pause,
Second word,
And then maybe just taking the first word and repeating it on its own and noticing the tempo at which it repeats and paying attention to the space between each repetition more than the word itself,
Kind of stripping it of meaning and just noticing that this spaciousness within which it arises is there before,
After,
And during its appearance,
And going even further,
The word or thought itself is made of the awareness within which it comes through this practice,
It becomes clear that no mind is the essence of mind,
Or in other words,
Silence or awareness is the constant behind each thought,
Each label,
It's like a blank page of a book within which words emerge and then fade back into the page,
And we can take a few deeper breaths here and return to our conversation.
