Welcome,

My name is Celia Roberts and I'm the founder of BioMe,

The biomedical institute of yoga and meditation.

Today we're looking at a meditation for anemia or iron deficiency.

So usually we come into the heart space and we focus our attention on the heart itself.

And this might be in a physiological system,

The physical heart,

But in an esoteric system,

Anahata,

Akash is the heart space.

So you could actually choose the physical heart or you could choose the spiritual heart of the body,

Which is right in the centre of the sternum front and back.

So into the ribs and behind and place your awareness right in the central part of the body,

The beating heart or the spiritual heart of the body.

And sometimes when we look at the psychosomatic idea of iron deficiency,

And if it works for you,

You could use this.

The idea is that sometimes our will to live has been depleted,

So it comes with fatigue and depression and our heart energy has been depleted.

So I want you to really move into the inner luminosity of the heart.

But perhaps to find this you have to go through the heaviness,

The fatigue,

The tiredness.

So sitting right in the centre of your heart.

And remember we're working with our will to live.

So just see behind the fatigue and the heaviness,

Perhaps if you can find an inner luminosity,

The effulgent light of the heart.

The breathing of your heart.

Just here,

Be really grateful for what keeps you alive.

This could be as simple as your breath.

Could be a person in your life,

Things that you love to do.

Just having gratitude for the things that keep you alive.

That way of getting in touch with that inner luminosity,

Our life force.

And allow your attention to travel down into the navel centre.

And the stomach and small intestine are really important to us in the flow of what we call Samana Vayu in yoga and meditation and also in Ayurveda.

And the absorption of iron from this region.

Now sometimes when the body's been over exercising and high levels of stress,

The digestion and absorption of iron from this region of the body is affected.

And there's a little bit of evidence around this to prove this when we look at exercise anemia.

So the blood flow is moving away from the belly,

Away from the small intestine and into the limbs and that's the same one we're stressed so it's possible that the absorption from this region of the body is affected.

The absorption of iron.

So we want you to really try and move into the gut here and soften all the internal organs with your breath.

So you're trying to increase the flow of prana in this region and improve the blood flow by softening and using the relaxation response to really enter in deeply.

Improving blood flow and assimilation.

Allow the belly to soften even more deeply.

Allow the fascia around the internal organs to soften even further.

Find a steadiness in the abdomen,

A sense of steadiness and ease.

With the belly soften back to the heart.

Find the same softness,

Sense of compassionate ease.

Send this compassion from the heart all the way to the fingertips,

All the way to the toes.

All the way to the eyes.

Sending waves of compassion throughout the body from the heart to the fingertips and toes.

Really wish yourself well,

Good health,

Harmony,

Longevity,

Strong will,

Excellent will to live.

Listening your reasons to live and to live well.

I wish you well.

May you be happy,

May you be healthy,

May you be filled with deep compassion and may you be at peace.

Being recently diagnosed with anemia, I appreciate the insight into psychosomatic possible causes of this condition. The guidance was supportive and straightforward, yet the empathy was heartfelt. I will come back to this practice. Thank You and Namaste 💚

I could feel a calm shift heartbeat and muscle tension. Good practice. Thank you.

The suggestion regarding the cause of anemia was new to me but made sense and the pace of the guided meditation was helpful.
