Laughter looks the same in the brain as meditation. Laughter decreases stress and natural killer cells. According to Lee Burke, "Humor associated with mirthful laughter sustains high-amplitude gamma-band oscillations. Gamma is the only frequency found in every part of the brain. What this means is that humor actually engages the entire brain – it is a whole-brain experience with the gamma wave band frequency and humor, similar to meditation, holds it there; we call this being 'in the zone.'" Start with a smiling meditation.

And as you're laughing,

You might just bring a little bit of laughter into it that's a little bit unnatural at first.

Just really try and observe all the sensations in the body that allow that.

You do experience mindful laughing.

So the studies show that humour associated with mirth for life-dump may be another non-pharmacological lifestyle intervention to provide health,

Wellness and therapeutic benefit.

That's there.

Maybe we could laugh at our want to be 20% happier.

I just want something more.

Maybe we could laugh at our want to be 20% happier.

So just really mindfully sit in the face now.

You might feel the tingling,

The primer,

The muscles twitching a little bit.

Laughing and smiling is one activity that engages all the muscles of the face.

Does it burn calories?

Does it burn calories?

It feels that way.

I get really strong abs from it.

And if it helps you to know,

Those who are fitter will have a heightened response to things like laughter because their endorphins can heat up more quickly.

So being fit and healthy means you can literally release endorphins more quickly.

Okay,

So we'll rock the palms together.

I hope to find more of this kind of meditation. And wish that it was transcribed as it was hard to get the “jokes” towards the end. A part from that, excellent! I had heard of laughter meditation before, but never experienced it. 👍

I LOVE to laugh! It is so vital. I already try to do this every day with friends or on my own. I love the points made while laughing creating awareness, and the education at the end. Are you hiring?! 😄Thank you!
