Healing from heartache can be a messy and painful process and there is no easy fix or magic words that can completely make the pain go away.
It is important to acknowledge that healing is not linear.
You may have good days and bad days and there may be times you feel like you're making progress and times when you feel like you're backsliding.
This is all a normal part of the journey.
It is incredibly important that we allow ourselves to feel whatever emotions that may arise not to push them down or numb the pain.
During this practice we will use our breath as a method to release whatever is built up in the body.
I advise you to find a comfortable seat alone or with a friend.
Whatever emotions that may arise allow them to be released.
I invite you into this safe container as a space where you can let out whatever messy or uncomfortable feelings that need to be released from the body.
As you find your seat maybe dim the lights creating a space of safety and comfort facing down over the knee.
So before you begin practicing with me just listen and description.
Guide us through a series of breathing techniques that are designed to release whatever needs to be released from the body and mind.
Sometimes we don't even know what that is in this very moment.
For our first round we'll be breathing at this rhythm breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
We'll be breathing at that pace and rhythm for 30 seconds followed by a breath retention in which we breathe in and fill the belly and hold for 30.
No need to worry about counting.
Your only job here is to focus on the belly expanding and retracting as we breathe.
We'll begin now breathing in release the breath breathe in fill your belly focus the attention at the navel relax the muscles in your body and face.
Last 15 seconds noticing any sensation just readjusting yourself here from your center relaxing the muscles in the body and face relaxing the shoulders while you hold here without straining and exhale let it go just finding your center here just noticing and we'll move into our final round three here again making any adjustments hands facing down over the knees follow my release the breath breathe in focus at your navel tuck the chin in release the muscles in the body release any tightness hold and exhale exhale let it go maybe taking another inhale here as you find your center keeping the practice within keeping the eyes closed now bringing your awareness to the heart center noticing any emotions heaviness we're going to breathe into the heart center exhale through the mouth and sip in through the mouth and exhale through the nose breathe in through your nose exhale sip in and out through the nose breathe in let it go sip in stay with that rhythm breathe in and exhale on your inhales feeling your heart fill in with warmth and on the exhale releasing any tension or pain breathing in stay with that circular rhythm exhale release when you sip in really feel yourself fill in at the heart center and on the exhale release just noticing the sound of your breath here to center inhale fill in that heart center breathe in through the nose exhale let it go let your mind die repeating the following affirmations i acknowledge and honor the pain that i'm feeling in this very moment i am strong enough to experience and work through these difficult emotions i am open to healing and growth i allow myself to feel whatever arises without pushing it back down maybe placing your hand at your heart center here breathing in and let it go two more breathe let it go last one together breathe and release feeling a sense of peace and calm washing over the body as you begin to open the eyes maybe taking a look at the objects in the room grounding yourself back into your space
