Welcome dear athlete to this guided meditation designed especially for you as you navigate the transformative journey of perimenopause.

During this time of change,

It's crucial to find balance within the flux of physical sensations,

Emotional fluctuations,

And reconnect with your inner athletic self.

Let us embark on this journey together finding strength and empowerment through this transitional phase.

Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.

Sit or lie down in a relaxed position and gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,

Release any tension in your body.

Feel the weight of your body sinking into the support beneath you.

Let's start by bringing awareness to your body.

Particularly to the sensations and tensions that may arise during this perimenopausal phase.

Begin with your breath,

The gentle rise and fall of your chest and the rhythmic flow of air in and out.

Now,

Direct your attention to your feet.

Feel them,

Feel them as they support your entire being.

Imagine roots extending from your feet,

Anchoring you to the earth,

Providing stability and strength.

Slowly scan your body from your feet,

Moving upwards,

Paying close attention to any sensations or tensions you may encounter.

If you come across an area of discomfort,

Send your breath and attention to that space,

Allowing it to soften and release.

Remember that your body is resilient,

Capable of adapting to the changes of perimenopause and beyond.

Move up your legs,

To your knees,

And to your thighs.

Notice any sensations or areas of tension and with each exhale,

Let go of any resistance.

Now moving up higher,

Bring your awareness to your abdomen and pelvis,

The center of many sensations.

Visualize a warm,

Golden light gently enveloping this area.

Soothing any discomfort and bringing a sense of calm.

As you continue to scan,

Move up to your chest,

Your shoulders,

And your arms.

Release any tightness or holding you feel there.

Allow your breath to flow freely as it is your constant companion on this long journey.

Finally,

Moving upward again,

Reach your neck,

Your face,

And the crown of your head.

Let go of any remaining tension,

Allowing your entire body to feel light and relaxed.

As a perimenopausal athlete,

You may experience emotional fluctuations due to hormonal shifts.

These emotions are a natural part of your journey and through mindfulness,

You can navigate them with grace.

Imagine yourself standing by the shore of a lake.

The water represents your emotions,

Calm on the surface but constantly changing beneath.

You are the observer,

Standing on solid ground,

Unaffected by the ripples in the water.

When a wave of emotion washes over you,

Take a step back and observe it without judgment.

Whether it's joy,

Frustration,

Or sadness,

Allow it to be present without resistance.

Breathe into the emotion,

Acknowledging its existence.

Now visualize a gentle breeze blowing across the lake,

Softly soothing the waves.

This breeze represents your breath,

Your anchor to the present moment.

Inhale deeply,

And as you exhale,

Release any tension associated with the emotion.

Let it dissipate like ripples calming on the water's surface.

Remember that your emotions,

Like the waves,

Will ebb and flow.

You're not defined by them.

You are the steady observer,

Rooted in your inner strength.

As an athlete,

You have achieved great triumphs in the past.

These victories are not lost.

They are part of you.

Let's merge your past successes with your present athletic self.

Take a moment to recall a significant athletic achievement from your past.

It could be a race you won,

Or a personal milestone you've achieved.

Feel the exhilaration,

The sense of accomplishment,

And the pride that accompanied that moment.

Now imagine yourself standing on the threshold of a new athletic challenge,

Representing your present self.

You are stronger,

You are wiser,

And you are more resilient than ever before.

Now visualize a bridge connecting your past triumph with your present self.

Step onto that bridge.

Feel the energy of your past success flowing into your current being.

You carry the knowledge,

The experience,

And the determination from those moments into your current athletic journey.

With each step,

As you walk across this bridge,

You affirm your belief in your abilities.

As you say to yourself,

I am strong.

I am capable.

I am resilient.

Feel the power of these words reverberate through your entire being.

As you reach the other side of the bridge,

You are fully connected with your past triumphs and your present athletic self.

Embrace this union and carry it with you as you face any athletic challenge that lies ahead.

Bring yourself back to your breath.

As we conclude this meditation,

Remember that you possess the strength and resilience to navigate perimenopause as an empowered athlete.

Your body is fully attuned,

Your emotions fully balanced,

And your present athletic self reconnected with past triumphs.

You are a remarkable athlete,

And this perimenopausal journey is just another chapter in your journey of strength and resilience.

Take a final deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Gently open your eyes,

Bringing this sense of balance and empowerment with you into the world.

You are ready to face whatever challenges come your way,

Knowing that you are a force to be reckoned with.

Namaste.
