Transcript

Let's engage in a brief visualization.

Close your eyes if that feels comfortable for you.

Take in a full deep inhale and then exhale and release.

Begin to relax and ease into your body.

Begin to imagine a very tall hill surrounded by a vast body of water.

Imagine on that hill a beautiful lighthouse scanning and shining its light on select objects in the water.

Now imagine that you are this lighthouse and the body of water is your mind.

Begin to notice the focus of your light as you reflect on how you feel about yourself day to day.

What are the thoughts that you are beginning to notice in this body of water,

The contents of your mind?

Are you noticing any self-limiting beliefs,

Any self-critical thoughts?

What are positive thoughts that you are noticing,

Particularly towards yourself?

You are the lighthouse scanning this body of water,

The contents of your mind,

Scanning from thought to thought.

You are the master of where your light chooses to focus.

Now let's try a little experiment.

As your light scans through different thoughts in the ocean of your mind,

Begin to focus your light on your qualities,

Your gifts,

Your strengths.

This might feel like exercising a muscle that you haven't used in a long time,

But with a bit of effort,

You start to build your strength and you begin to feel differently.

Keep trying.

What do you appreciate about yourself?

Perhaps this is something that seems small,

Such as using your gift of listening to make someone in your life feel seen.

Focus your light on self-appreciation,

Even if it feels hard.

Notice how you show up and help to make the world a better place in small and in large ways.

Continue to focus your light on the positive within yourself for as long as you feel called to.

And if your light scans and focuses on more critical thoughts,

Self-limiting beliefs,

Notice that they're there and choose to change your focus.

With consistent practice,

You will strengthen this muscle and build a positive outlook of yourself.

Over time,

Notice how this positive outlook of yourself changes your outlook of everything around you and outside of you.
