Making time for yourself is essential. It is not selfish. If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete. You deserve true and thought-out quality time for you and you only. It can be hard during the holiday season to carve out this time, but it is possible, and it is necessary.

Welcome yourself here and start by taking a deep breath in and let it go.

Start to turn inwards and close your eyes if it feels right.

Hopefully,

You're in a comfy position,

Feeling the ground beneath you,

Supporting you.

If a thought comes to your mind,

Welcome it and return back to your breath.

The only moment that matters is right now.

The holiday season is filled with so many emotions,

Whether that be joy or grief,

Sadness or excitement,

Love.

During this time,

Are you taking care of you?

Recall the last time you made time for yourself.

True,

Thought-out,

Quality time just for you.

Maybe you can't recall a specific moment.

You spend so much of your energy on others in so much time living without pausing.

You spend so much time living without pausing.

It is not selfish to love yourself,

To take care of yourself and make yourself a priority.

It is necessary.

You can't pour from an empty cup.

Fill your cup first.

Fill yours so you can fill others just as you desire.

Five minutes.

That's all you need.

Set aside five minutes.

Wake up earlier if you need to find the time.

Or sleep in if that time is precious to you.

Just do what you truly long for and desire.

And that will begin your healing.

What does quality time with you look like for you?

What does quality time with you look like for you?

Maya Angelou said,

As you grow older,

You will discover that you have two hands.

One for helping yourself and another for helping others.

If your compassion doesn't include yourself,

It is incomplete.

Take a moment to thank yourself.

Wrap your hands around yourself.

Giving yourself a hug.

Giving yourself a hug and gratitude for showing up here.

You made quality time for you today.

You showed up for you.

Start to notice the sounds in the room around you.

Maybe noticing any sensations you may feel.

Notice the person that is here now versus the person that showed up today.

Notice the shift.

And if no shift is obvious,

I can tell you there was a shift.

The shift is that you showed up today for you.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Maybe rock your head through the air.

Side to side.

And flutter your eyes open if they were closed.

Just being is enough.

With all my love.
