So welcome to this short meditation on bringing you back to the wisdom that you have within you.

It's going to start with a spoken section,

And then we'll go into a gently guided practice for dropping you back into the somatic wisdom you have within you,

Into the knowing and the gnosis of your own body.

So get comfy,

Settle down,

And we'll begin.

Nietzsche once said that there is more wisdom within your body than in your deepest philosophy.

And there's some truth in that.

We each have intuition,

That kind of strange knowing that comes for us sometimes,

Where we just get a gut sense about the right thing to do or what is about to happen next.

That intuition isn't a thing that we can necessarily look for.

It arises spontaneously,

Gives us nudges,

Prompts,

Little clues here and there as to what the next steps forward should be.

There are definitely times on our personal pathway through life when Google Maps just can't take us there.

Where the known guidance cannot give us what we need in order to find our way forwards.

In those times,

We have to trust in ourselves,

In our ability to make the right decisions,

To take the right next step,

And in the unfolding of our own unique pathway.

I don't know about you,

But sometimes when I have to make a decision,

I can give it to my mind,

And it toos and fros and pings and pongs and worries,

Runs scenarios,

Overthinks,

All those lists about what may or may not happen,

And my peace disappears.

We all do that.

We all want to do it right.

And yet sometimes the very best thing we can do for ourselves is to slow down and settle and let the wisdom within us speak in its own unique time.

We can take our focus off the mind and see what it means to feel our way forward,

To trust in the knowing that we have deep within us.

In this short practice today,

We're going to do a five minute session of dropping out of the mind and into the body and seeing what guidance comes for us.

So let's practice together now,

Coming down and in,

Listening,

Opening,

And seeing what arises.

Close your eyes or lower your gaze and sink down on your seat.

Let your spine rise up.

Feel that sense of support you have within you.

Sit a little taller,

Not with force or fierceness,

But with a sense of coming home to yourself,

To your own dignity,

To your own knowing.

Slow your breathing down some,

Deliberately.

We can choose to change the tempo of our own thoughts and the breath is a mighty ally to help us do that.

Let your shoulders drop back a little bit,

Your shoulder blades slide down your back and the area around your chest and the front of your body open a little more.

Rest your hands in your lap and open your palms as if this gesture of opening yourself might invite wisdom in a little closer.

Pause,

Slow,

Settle,

And notice the quality of your own attention right now.

Have you shown up in your seat feeling that you've got to get it right?

You have to figure it out.

Do it.

Do it now.

Breathe into that,

Welcome it,

Soften.

See if you can let your own attention be a little more spacious,

A place for investigation.

Unknowing usually does not come on demand.

It comes when we relax and invite it in,

When we respect it and its timings.

So sit back and let go of the trying and invite in trusting.

Would it be like to deeply trust in yourself,

In the unfolding of your own path?

In knowing that you can handle the way that however things work out,

That you can always find a good way forwards.

Take your foot off the internal gas pedal,

Slow down some and come in close to yourself,

To your heart,

To this dear human being that has come looking for wisdom,

Wondering how to do life,

Wondering what the right way is,

Figuring it out,

Perhaps in a bit of a funk.

Come in close to your humanness,

Close to your heart,

Come home to yourself.

I deeply trust that it is this sense of self-care,

This sense of spaciousness,

This sense of self-trust that helps our knowing come.

We can trust that we are good,

That we have got the way forward.

Do not seek to know the whole pathway ahead of you,

It is too big,

Too far ranging,

Too wide.

As you sit here,

Simply see if you can feel what the right direction to head in is,

What that one next right step might be.

It might be as simple as make a cup of tea,

Or it might be something like email and ask for more info,

Or communicate that I need more time to decide.

Trust in your knowing,

In your gnosis,

In your feeling,

In the wise one that you have within you,

Self.

We live in a time where we are sold gurus and answers and five-step packages,

And accelerated pathways through.

Ultimately,

We have to trust ourselves and our own hearts and our own brilliance and our own brokenness,

And find our way forwards for ourselves.

So,

As we come towards a close,

I invite you to place your hand on your own heart.

Add a little pressure,

A sense of I'm here,

I'm with me,

I've got this,

We're going to figure this out.

Allow yourself to believe in the brilliance that arises within you,

The shared intuition we all have,

The shared goodness we each have within us,

No matter how we've done in the past.

Invite in self-trust.

Invite in intuition.

Invite in dignity,

And a sense that the one next step will take you far enough,

That our lives change day to day,

That we can apply simple course corrections,

That we do not have to figure out the whole picture,

That we simply trust in the guidance we have within for the one next action.

Hold your heart,

Your knowing,

Your gnosis,

Your boldness,

Your brilliance,

Your tenderness and your trepidation.

Feel into your sense of self,

This somatic being,

This body of wisdom that you are that guides you brilliantly.

Trust your gut,

Your body,

Your hunches,

Your inspirations,

The quiet whispers within.

And as you go forward today,

See what arises,

And maybe try it.

We need our minds too,

But we need our hearts and our bodies,

And the web of wider intelligence.

So as we finish today,

I want you to know that you've got this.

Everything that you need lives within you.

It will work itself out.

You do not need to fret and be frantic.

Just come home to this body,

To this heart,

To this wisdom way.

You've got this,

Dear one.

Thank you for your practice.

Thank you for stilling and settling and trusting yourself.

We need our own wise leadership right now.

And I see you in the potency of your practice.

May wisdom find you.

May wisdom arise from within you.

This is exactly what I needed this morning. I know I am strongly intuitive if only I would stop listening to this babbling mind. Thanks!!
