You were wild once.

Don't let them tame you,

The dancer Isadora Duncan once said.

This meditation is an inspiration and an invocation back into your own wildness.

I invite you to move,

To stretch,

To come into your body,

To find what you need to do to feel good while you listen to this audio.

It is not so much a sit still and breathe quietly and calm down practice.

It is an inspiration and invocation in coming back to your own wildness.

So as you listen,

Do what you need.

Make this a moving meditation.

Stretch your spine,

Your arms,

Breathe deep,

Listen in.

Find your way back into your feeling body.

So let us begin.

You were wild once.

Don't let them tame you.

Don't let them tame you,

Isadora Duncan said.

Yet it's hard to not feel tamed in the day-to-day drudgery of the 21st century.

Our chop wood and carry water looks more like internet banking and Instagram.

Traffic and to-do lists both line up in front of us,

Likely leaving us feeling frustrated and a lack of space and time to feel as deeply and deliciously as we might like to.

So what is this wild thing that lives within us?

And how might we find our way back to it?

Maybe we sometimes hear it whispering on the wind to us,

Calling us back to the core of things.

How do we feel more fully the immense intuition that we have within us?

The feminine,

Fecund,

Deep feeling current that cools through us.

We'll likely remember our wildness from our long lost teenage days.

That urge to get to grips with life,

To feel fully,

To live with what feels like truth,

Integrity,

Immensity with passion,

Purpose,

Connection.

Maybe we've had moments in our lives when we felt moved by the mystery on a daily basis.

We are human animal matter,

Mystery made of nature.

We're not separate and superior from the animate and animal world around us.

We are not hominid disconnectus,

A brain that walks around on a body.

But we are vivid and visceral.

We are flesh and bones and our breathing bodies are part of this biosphere.

Mama Nature's fertile,

Fecund,

Forthcoming with her gifts.

She operates in circles and cycles and seasons.

Our lives may well do the same.

Sometimes we're budding,

Blossoming,

Blooming.

Other times we need to drop our load of leaves,

Shed the weight of our worries,

Get back to the bare bones of things and begin again.

There's no way that life is a game.

Sometimes we have to come back into our belly,

Into our body,

Into the core of ourselves to touch in with ourselves,

To tune in.

We can't make our way through our lives with just our mind.

We need to come into our body,

Into the wisdom that we have within us.

So keep stretching,

Keep breathing as you listen and shrug your shoulders.

Scrunch your eyes.

Shimmy your spine.

Follow what feels good.

Let the soft animal of your body love what it loves,

As Mary Oliver might say.

We need to seek out what sustains our soul day to day.

Life gets full and we get fraught.

We need to tend to our own wild and dear heart.

Amidst all that we care for on a calm day,

We need to find a way to find our own peace.

Amidst all that we care for and are cultivating,

Listen into your feeling body right now.

How is your heart?

How are your emotions?

What are you feeling?

What is moving through you?

What is moving within you?

What has moved you of late?

In order to feel fully alive,

To get in touch with our wildness,

We need to be in touch with life.

To touch into the deeper currents that are moving within us,

We need to make space to honour our wild nature,

Its circles,

Its cycles.

We may need to dance,

To walk,

To run,

To make love,

To read poetry,

To have a bath.

This is helped when we drop into our bodies and drop out of our minds.

We come to our senses.

Nature nurtures us,

Bringing us out of a sense of separate self,

And into feeling connected with the world.

We can literally remember the sense of wildness and wonder by coming back into our physical bodies.

Remember,

Meaning to let it back into our limbs.

We can let our creature self come online.

We can literally come to our senses,

Sniffing the scent of our lives,

Watching the horizon for what matters,

Taking a moment to be with the beauty of a bird soaring.

Listening deeply to a friend,

Honouring our heart's whisper,

Feeling fully and being brave enough to let life in,

To live it,

To love it,

However it is.

I reckon that in order to live well,

We get to build our muscles at feeling it all fully.

We have to learn to let life move through us to be pulled by its tides.

Emotions don't come on schedule.

Nature's chaotic,

Unchoreographed,

Unorchestrated,

Uncharted,

Unmapped,

And marvelously mysterious in its ways.

Dare to enter the wild world within you,

To see what your shoulders might want to say.

Maybe they want to drop what they've been carrying.

To see what your hands might want to reach out and touch.

To see where your feet may want to take you to trust in the wisdom of this body.

We get to explore the world within us,

To drop in deep to our inner world,

To be baffled and bewildered by navigating the infinite complexity within us.

We get to move with our own mystery.

When we get wild and investigate our inner experience,

We get to feel it all more fully,

To let more life into our lives.

These days,

More than ever,

It means a lot to me that we move mindfully through it all.

That we make lives that matter.

So in order to bring your wild and tender heart back online,

Keep feeling it fully,

Dear one.

Our wild nature is unpredictable,

Yet it's robust.

We need to tend to it,

To listen to it,

To pay attention to it,

To make time for it.

We need to learn to keep coming back and to following our feminine flow.

We have way more wisdom than we know we have.

Sometimes we just simply need to learn to trust it.

This inner knowing thing takes time,

Takes space,

Takes us putting down other people's views and voices of people pleasing them,

Of trusting that we don't have to force or figure it out.

Body-based wisdom will show up from somewhere within us.

It will give us good guidance.

It will give us a sense of what's going on in our lives.

It will take us forward with those next steps in finding fulfillment.

We all have a wild wise one within us.

We can trust that we will be led,

That we'll be given good guidance,

That we'll be pushed or prompted or prodded when the time comes,

That we can come to trust in our intuition.

Listen now.

Listen for those impulses within you.

That one little intuition towards the future,

That one little intuition towards your dreams,

That one step you can take today,

That one next action.

Bit by bit our lives change.

Listen in for what is being asked of you today.

One day's good guidance is enough.

Following our intuition this day,

Coming in closer to our wild heart in this one session.

Our embodied intuition is immensely intelligent.

May you learn to listen.

May you heed what you hear.

May you be brave enough to follow that good guidance.

May you know that you are wild and wise and wonderful.

May you know that this body is a good body.

This heart is a good heart.

May you learn to disregard your doubts and trust in the knowing you have within you.

To come in close to yourself,

To your strength,

To your tenderness,

To your tears,

To your wishes,

To your ones.

May you listen for that which calls you.

May you dare follow it.

May you know that life needs you,

Needs your dreams,

Needs your darings.

Needs you to be a wild woman.

Needs you to step towards what you want.

To not settle.

To speak up.

So as the session comes to a close,

Notice how it feels to have taken some time for our wild self.

May you come home regularly.

May you come visit your wild self again soon.

May you keep listening to your body,

To your heart,

To your intuition,

To the whispers on the wind,

To the voice of the wild that's calling you.

And I wish you a day filled with wisdom and wildness and wonder.
