Introduction To A Course In Miracles

This is a basic introduction describing what the premise of the three-part 'Course In Miracles' text is attempting to impart to all those who begin its journey. My talks, meditations, and live offerings to come will at their foundation be inspired by the remembering this Course speaks of.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Introduction to A Course in Miracles and in truth,

Introduction to A Course in Miracles Part 2.

Because I did release one before but quite frankly it felt a little,

Just didn't quite feel as authentic for me because I read what the introduction of A Course in Miracles is instead of just trusted myself.

Sometimes the voice of doubt can come in,

Right?

The Course in Miracles is a metaphysical text.

I've been studying for a little over 10 years and most of the tracks that I've released and will continue to release,

Coupled with my live offerings I'm going to start doing weekly about remembering who we are.

And a lot of those conversations are what the Course in Miracles aims to help with which is kind of shadow work is the way I like to say it.

But I wanted to give an intro to A Course in Miracles because like a lot of things in the world,

A Course in Miracles in my humble opinion has a lot of misinterpretation.

And we as humans,

We have egos and we have these minds that love to comment,

Give feedback and define what something is and they may have no learned knowledge about whatever they're giving opinions about,

No study.

It's just I know this and this is the way.

We've all done it,

I've done it.

And for me,

I have to stay open,

That's why I've absorbed and learned many different paths along the way,

Reading Marianne Williamson,

Eckhart Tolle,

Many different self-help books,

The Upanishads,

The Bhagavad Gita,

Just Christian science,

Trying to stay open.

I love Adyashanti,

Thich Nhat Hanh,

Just absorbing.

When I found A Course in Miracles,

Or I should say it found me,

Five different people that didn't know each other mentioned it within a week and something within me,

That voice within,

That a lot of paths talk about that quiet,

Small,

Still voice within,

It was very apparent,

Oh,

A Course in Miracles.

And as I started to read it,

My eyes would well up and I'd be in tears.

There was a truth that was hitting my heart and my mind in a way that no other path had up until now.

And so I just wanted to break down what is A Course in Miracles for everyone so that moving forward,

Any of my offerings,

You'll have a little better understanding of what it is in case you're curious.

And then down the road,

I can definitely give more feedback and suggestions or answer any questions you might have.

A Course in Miracles was channeled by a woman in the 60s.

Her name was Helen Schucman.

Her and her colleague,

They were Columbia professors.

Helen was a militant atheist at the time,

And she was very resistant to a kind of voice and imagery that was trying to come to her,

And she wanted no part of it.

But her colleague and her had agreed that there must be another way than what traditional psychology was attempting to do as far as healing our mind,

Awakening,

Something wasn't working.

And her colleague basically said,

Why don't you not resist this voice and image and welcome it?

And when that occurred,

She heard this voice say,

This is A Course in Miracles,

Prepare to take notes.

And she downloaded in shorthand notes over the next seven years what was coming through on these shorthand notes and would go over it with her colleague.

It became very apparent to all that she started sharing these notes with that this person delivering the message to her or this identity identified itself as Jesus the Christ.

Jesus being a man that awoke the Christ back 2,

000 years ago.

The Christ is just a word or a term that describes the eternal state of oneness beyond time,

Space,

And form beyond duality that we all share.

That this book would teach we all share,

That it's all of our inheritances to awaken.

Some call it enlightenment.

There are many different words,

Right?

Whether it's the Buddha or Jesus,

They all taught that I am no different than you.

I am just awake.

I am what is potential in you I have accomplished.

It is already done.

So the Course in Miracles starts out by saying that this is A Course in Miracles and it is a required course.

Now this is not saying that it is the only course to enlightenment.

It's saying this is A Course in Miracles,

Not the course.

Meaning there are many different languages and words and texts and philosophies that are ultimately teaching A Course in Miracles,

Meaning A Course in Truth,

A Course in Oneness.

You can take it a thousand different ways.

If you want to take Buddhism,

If you want to take Hinduism,

If you are a Christian,

Doesn't matter.

You're ultimately still taking A Course in Miracles.

Not meaning this book,

Meaning that's the deep unconscious philosophy that most spiritualities are teaching.

So this is A Course in Miracles.

This course,

This book says,

We don't aim to teach love because that's actually what it cannot be taught.

It's beyond what can be taught.

What this course aims to do is assist you,

Us,

With the help of Spirit in going into our own mind and uncovering the barriers and blocks that we have put in the way of this divine inheritance,

This state that is beyond words.

So this is A Course in Investigation.

It's a course in uncovering all of these layers of defenses and attacks and judgments and guilt and these narratives and beliefs and concepts that we have put in the way,

Ultimately,

Of our shared state.

There's three sections in A Course in Miracles.

The first section is the text.

This is a very in-depth,

It takes quite a bit of time.

It's very heavy and deep and it basically covers everything from miracles,

Light,

Dark,

The shadow,

Ego,

Sex,

Behaviors,

Needs,

Wants,

I could go on.

It covers everything.

And then there's the second section,

Which is the lessons.

It's 365 daily lessons.

Let's call them meditations,

Really.

Now the introduction to the lessons,

The very first sentence says,

The theoretical foundation such that the text provides,

Meaning section one,

Is necessary to make these lessons meaningful.

Now what am I saying?

Some people say,

Ah,

You don't need to read the text,

Just jump right to the lessons.

And I would agree that the lessons are where the rubber meets the road.

This is where we will learn to integrate all that the text spoke about.

That said,

It means that a foundation,

Just like I need to have done elementary math,

Pre-algebra,

Algebra one,

Algebra two,

Before I get to calculus.

When you buy a book,

You don't open it to chapter nine.

You can do so,

But this is really the spiritual ego tricking us and just gathering information and knowledge,

And then the ego is using it.

If you're anything like me,

Why do I have the experience that I've been on a path for seeking for 20 years,

Yet I still don't have,

I don't feel any more consistent in my joy and peace and my relationships and the things in this world seem to be off still.

So the lessons,

For me,

I am of the belief to read the text first,

To have an experience with the text.

Some compromise and start both the text and lessons simultaneously,

But ultimately it's up to the student how you take the course,

And it says that in the beginning of the Course in Miracles.

It says,

How you take this course is up to you,

But you will take this course,

Whether it's in this lifetime or the next,

Meaning you will take the course of awakening or miracles at some point.

So when you do the lessons,

The first half of the lessons are geared to undo and unlearn,

Basically to bring all of these old beliefs,

Everything in our mind to question.

To basically undo,

You could call it the ego mind,

You could call it the devil mind,

You could call it the shadow mind.

We don't look at something to better integrate into it,

We look at it,

We don't deny it,

In so that it can be healed.

We don't look to try to integrate falsity,

We try to dissolve falsity so that what's left is the truth.

And as the Course in Miracles would say,

Ultimately once you pull back all the layers,

What you realize is you wake up from a dream of falsity.

That in truth,

At the deepest level,

There is only truth,

There is only love,

There is only the divine.

And then the last section is the manual for teachers.

Why is this?

No matter what spiritual path you're in,

They all say you can't keep it without giving it away.

Because in truth,

As the Course would say,

The true divine mind is a shared mind,

It's a shared state.

In our seeming state of separation and fragmentation that we find ourselves in,

In this world we call humanity,

In this dream here on earth,

That true awakening isn't accomplished until all minds awaken as one.

So I can't leave anybody behind.

This isn't like,

How can I become enlightened,

Right?

And then,

You know,

Just sail off into bliss and there you go.

It's a shared experience.

Giving and receiving are one and the same.

So this is the Course in Miracles.

The metaphoric idea,

Which maybe I should have started with,

But that's okay.

It's ultimately this.

Again,

This book is written in Christian terms.

Jesus says in the Course in Miracles that this message will show up in many different forms that will be accessible to the student.

Meaning Buddhism,

Hinduism,

Christianity.

There's no right or wrong way.

See the ego is just looking to attack everything and make it separate.

There's no right or wrong way.

But Jesus chose to speak in a Christian language in this book because more people identify on the planet currently with that language.

But it isn't a dogma or a religious text.

As a matter of fact,

When you read it,

You start realizing that there's every form of religion and spiritual concept written into one in this language.

And so using that language,

The divine God,

The all is,

The infinite love,

The container of wholeness that has no container,

The eternal state of peace that just was the divine before time and space.

That this oneness created the one son as it's called in the Course in Miracles.

Now son being daughter,

It doesn't matter the language you use,

Right?

The ego loves to separate with language or put up a defense or a wall with language.

Use whatever language works for you.

But it created the one son.

Let's call it the son of God.

The whole son.

And the son was created just like the father because the father can only create like itself.

Love if it's infinite love can only create infinite love.

Therefore it is an impossibility.

It is a hallucination,

Any experience that is outside the bounds of love.

Now into the mind of the son crept a mad idea as the Course calls it.

This idea was that the opposite was possible.

That there was a state beyond this.

And in the moment of having this thought,

Instead of laughing and dismissing it,

There was a pause.

And in that pause birthed the ego.

We birthed the ego.

The opposite mind.

The false god.

The anti-Christ.

Whatever you want to call it.

Darkness.

The shadow.

And in that thought this voice said,

Look,

Don't turn around.

You just burned the house down.

You burned the kingdom down.

You separated yourself from the divine.

And the divine is actually quite pissed and it's looking for you.

It's trying to find you so that it can punish you for burning the house,

Lighting the house on fire.

But don't worry.

There's a place we can go and we can not only create like the one,

Like the divine,

But we can create even more than the divine.

We can be our own gods.

You'll have fun.

There'll be a lot of cool amazing people.

It's going to be amazing.

But the thing you have to promise me,

This is the ancient agreement,

Is you can't ever revisit this moment.

You can't revisit this moment.

You just dismiss it and let's go.

And that moment of terror,

We just shot off.

In this birth,

Let's some people call it the big bang,

The moment that form was created.

Before form,

It was the timeless,

Formless,

Infinite,

Eternal space and time of love and peace and joy.

It's all there is.

It's all there was.

And that so the world,

The world of form and matter and space and time and the physical world we see,

The dualistic nature that we see is this hallucination.

Because in reality,

What occurred in that pause where we had the thought was we fell asleep.

And we're simply dreaming a state of separateness.

And the one Father,

The divine God,

Buddha,

The infinite nature,

The eternal nature,

The love nature is simply looking down the hallway,

Noticing that the one Son seems to be having a nightmare.

But it knows nothing of this because it knows it can't create unlike itself.

And so that all spiritual paths,

Including A Course in Miracles,

Teach awakening.

The only difference with A Course in Miracles and all other paths is it doesn't make the physical body a end.

It's simply a means.

That in reality,

Death is what the ego convinced us we created because life cannot create unlike itself.

So life only creates life.

And therefore death is the hallucination.

It's the grand end game of the ego.

So what the Course is saying and what our brother Jesus is saying that he really taught 2,

000 years ago was the resurrection was an example of there is no death.

That the body has no power over the mind,

The one mind.

That when we are in alignment,

When we awaken truly to this one mind,

The body simply is a vehicle for continued service for the greater plan of awakening.

But that it aims to help us,

This Course,

In seeing all the ways that the ego defense system is strong.

It wants us to live in the gray.

It wants us to have our happy separated kingdom and the divine oneness that has no barriers or boundaries.

So this is really kind of the intro to the Course and a lot of this is metaphoric and also not so metaphoric.

If you are somebody who has studied Christianity at all,

In the Bible where it says Adam fell asleep,

If you read in the beginning of Genesis,

In no place in the Bible does it ever say that Adam woke up after he went into a deep sleep.

So this is a Course in Miracles.

It's a path in awakening.

There are many different paths out there,

But it has been profound in helping me and assisting me in really looking in my own mind at all the barriers and defenses that I've set up from a place of fear that I thought I was acting from a place of love.

It really has helped me pinpoint and get clear and feel more consistent peace and more freedom in a state where I feel less bound in the world,

Where I feel free from the prison of my own thinking.

So I hope that was a little bit helpful.

Nuke Sanchez,

The End of Death,

Well her first book was Take Me to Truth.

It's probably a little gentler,

Take Me to Truth.

But these are some nice gentle books to kind of get into to really test the waters.

Usually if you read one of those books,

You'll know at the end if A Course in Miracles is a course or a path you'd like to check out more.
