Greetings and welcome to the Why Struggle Podcast.

And inspirations so you can live life better.
Greetings and welcome to 2024 Week 21 Stay Grounded.
This podcast is about staying grounded.
This past weekend my husband TD and I went out to San Antonio,
Texas to visit with his sister and her husband.
Whenever I travel I like to take extra time to recuperate from the travel.
What that means for me is giving myself permission to rest a little bit more in the morning instead of jumping up out of bed and starting my day.
After sitting on the flight for over an hour due to mechanical difficulties,
Delta had us change planes.
The flight to San Antonio had so much turbulence due to the storms in Houston that the flight crew was unable to leave their seats.
Nothing like a flight with constant turbulence to remind you of what's important in life.
I took a lot of deep breaths while watching the beekeeper on the plane.
A great way to practice.
I am grateful we made it safely to our destination.
I hope you enjoy this earthing grounding meditation I recorded outside.
It is a grounding meditation and it feels like a just right meditation based upon my experience with the flight.
By the way,
The return flight was perfect.
No turbulence at all.
Give thanks for all things.
Greetings,
It's Barbara J Faison,
Your meditation ambassador.
No,
You're not seeing something weird.
You're seeing my feet and we're going to do a grounding practice.
So if you're able to join me and allow your feet to touch the earth,
Please do so.
We'll be doing something called grounding and you may have heard it called earthing and what this is is making sure that your feet are connected to one of my favorites,
Mother Earth.
Whenever we connect our feet to Mother Earth,
We are getting all of the energy from Mother Earth which has negative energy and that energy comes up into our body and it has multiple wonderful effects for our body.
It can cause you to be relaxed and sleep well at night.
It can cause you to have lower blood pressure,
To just have overall wellness and health benefits when you connect with Mother Earth barefoot.
So if you can join me,
Do so.
We'll start by taking a few breaths and then I'll walk around a little bit.
So let's begin.
If you're seated,
If you can be seated right now or even stand.
I think I'll stand.
So I'm gonna stand and let's just take a few breaths.
We'll breathe in through the nose and out through the nose.
And now just walk.
So you'll see me walking.
I'm walking in my backyard.
You probably may not see my feet,
You'll just see the ground.
And just walk very intentionally,
Allowing your heel to come down and then your top of your,
The ball of your feet to come down.
As if you're just learning how to walk.
And you're breathing at your own pace,
Rate and rhythm.
And I'm just being careful to notice where I'm walking because I've not done this before here.
So I'm just being really mindful.
And I encourage you to do so as well,
Just to make sure you're not stepping on things that may hurt your feet.
And just breathe.
As you walk,
Breathe.
Now I'm walking and doing a figure eight because the figure eight is known in Qigong to have beneficial energetic properties.
So walking in a figure eight formation or using figure eight energetically,
Figure eight signs around your body,
It's helpful for the body.
So how's that feel?
Are you giggling a little bit like me?
And just breathe.
Notice how you feel.
Does it feel strange?
Or are you a regular walker outside barefoot?
I am not.
So this is something new for me as well.
Now I'm returning to where I was standing.
And now we're just going to close by saying a few affirmations.
So stand for a moment and take a breath in through the nose and then out through the nose.
Breathe in and repeat.
I am on solid ground.
I am safe.
I receive the energy from Mother Earth.
Thank you for joining me on this walking earthing practice and I'd love to know how you feel.
