Hello,
It's Aisha.
I'd like to welcome you to this guided meditation.
So in this mindful walking meditation,
We will walk and perhaps clear the mind as we savor the calming sounds of nature.
Although this is a walking guided meditation,
You may also choose to listen to this sitting or lying down inside,
But please do feel free to join me outside as we walk and talk.
There are so many wonderful benefits to making mindful walking a part of your day.
It's great for mental and physical health.
It can improve our quality of sleep,
Reduce stress and anxiety.
It can also stimulate our creative juices.
It's a great form of exercise and getting fresh air is such a nice way to lift the mood and clear the mind.
So as we prepare for this lovely mindful walk,
Let us start by bringing our focus to the breath.
Just observing the breath for a moment.
Observing as the breath flows in and out of the nose.
Observing and savoring the sweet delight that is the breath of life.
Now I invite you to take a deep breath in through the nose and a slow grounding exhale out the mouth.
Ah once more deep inhale through the nose and a slow exhale out the mouth.
Now simply let your breath return to its own natural pattern as you just breathe and let yourself be.
Be present,
Be here,
Breathe deep.
As you continue to breathe in your own way and at your own pace,
Take a moment to feel the ground beneath your feet.
With every step that you take,
Feel yourself connecting to the ground,
The earth,
The foundation beneath you.
Might you take a moment here to let yourself feel grounded,
Supported and present as you continue to walk outside.
Perhaps slowing down and moving at a slower pace as you move consciously and mindfully.
Taking this time to gaze at your surroundings,
Breathe deep and take it all in.
Look around you and soak up your surroundings.
What can you see?
Savor this moment.
Embrace every grounding moment of this walk.
Now pay attention to the sounds that you can hear all around you.
What can you hear?
Can you hear any birds singing,
Dogs barking?
Cars driving?
Trees rustling in the wind?
People talking?
Water flowing?
Whether you can hear the sounds of nature,
The sounds of the city or a combination of both,
Simply fall deeper into this now moment as you listen to the sounds around you.
As you continue to walk,
Might you bring your focus to what you can smell?
Is it the cool,
Crisp air,
Grass,
Flowers,
Mud,
Food?
Can you smell rain?
Can you smell the sea?
Breathe deep and take it all in.
Continue to immerse yourself in this walking meditation as you develop awareness of your surroundings.
Walking,
Grounding,
Connecting with nature,
Present moment awareness.
Be present,
Be aware,
Just be here.
Savor all of the smells,
Sounds and sights that you can see.
Breathe,
See,
Savor,
Be.
See,
Smell,
Breathe,
Be.
And as you continue this mindful walk,
Just observe any thoughts that might be floating or drifting through the mind.
Like leaves dancing gracefully in the sky,
Just let them drift across the inner sky as you take this moment to clear the mind.
Embracing the healing,
Cleansing and replenishing power of nature.
Be in nature,
Breathe in nature,
Savor this time that you are spending in nature.
As we move towards the end of this mindful walk,
Just remember that you can take yourself for a mindful walk as often as you need or want to.
Carving out that time to be present and aware of your body,
Breath and surroundings as you slow down and embrace this wonderful act of self-care.
I hope that you have enjoyed this guided meditation and mindful walk.
Much love,
Take care and I will meet you in another guided meditation.
