Welcome to a short meditation for empaths.

Often our culture calls empaths highly sensitive people,

Almost like it's a flaw.

Couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion.

Empaths feel,

And how wonderful to feel deeply.

I know many people who feel so deeply hurt by what's going on on the planet,

Environmentally and politically and socially.

And empaths feel so much and it's wonderful for a meditator to feel so much.

I think we should honor this.

So in this guided practice specifically designed for you,

The empath or what some people would call a sensitive person.

This is our opportunity to embrace this and see that the saying,

The meek shall inherit the earth from the Christian tradition.

But meek isn't a bad thing.

It's not a negative.

Meek in my opinion means loving and kind and open,

Generous,

Soft,

Feeling,

Loving.

All those good qualities.

Able to be,

Able to respond versus react.

So let's jump in together.

Just sit up straight.

Nice straight spine.

Tuck the chin a bit.

Rest the hands wherever they want to rest.

Sometimes on the lap,

The knees.

Let's just start with a few deep breaths.

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Audible exhales are just wonderful and completely invited.

So in through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Two more just like that.

Like you're blowing out some birthday candles on the exhale.

And when you're ready,

Let the breath return to normal.

And take a moment to use your incredible skill of sensitivity and feeling to start to just tune into the breath.

Turning into your gift of feeling deeply and fully.

Feel how the breath is just being delivered to you effortlessly and how the exhale just happens on its own.

Being breathed in,

Just naturally breathing out.

And I wonder as an empath,

As someone who deeply feels,

If you could tune into your body now,

Notice places that are tight or being held unnecessarily that need some letting go,

Some relief.

And I know you're so good at that as an empath,

As a more sensitive human.

You're in touch more and that's such a gift.

So any tightness in the in the toes or feet,

Any clenching in the feet,

See if you can let that go and rest and relax.

Just allow your feet to make more contact with the floor,

Just to soften up if you're in a seated posture.

And moving up,

Just tuning into your bottom,

Seeing if there's any holding there.

If there is,

Just relax your pelvic floor.

Allow your bottom,

Back of the legs to make more contact,

A little bit more contact with the surface you're sitting on.

Move up to the belly,

See if there's any holding on there.

And with your strong ability to feel deeply and care,

Direct that skill at yourself.

Maybe as an empath you're usually directing it towards others.

But in this practice,

Care for your own belly.

Next exhale,

Just let it drop and relax.

Let's stick with the belly for a little while.

Often sensitive people,

More empathic people,

They hold a lot for the world in their bellies.

For a few rounds of breath,

Just allow the belly to rise,

Allow the belly to fall.

And just directing that same love and care you have for the whole world,

For all friends and family and all beings and animals,

Plants,

Nature,

The ecology.

Direct that love right towards yourself.

Just letting the belly rise and fall.

You bring it up to your chest.

Often there's tension there from holding on the weights of the world.

Just be with and send love and care to any tightness you find in your chest.

Each exhale just letting it rest more and more down towards the earth,

Being held by the earth.

Moving up to the shoulders,

Back body.

Notice any tension there from carrying the weight of the world,

From your deep ability to care and want to cure and fix and hold and love.

Just direct that completely towards yourself in this moment for your own healing.

And do what you do best.

Feel deeply.

Embrace.

Just imagine you could send the breath right into any tight areas that you find.

Next exhale just let them rest,

Relax down through your body into the earth.

And the earth holds it no problem,

Transforms it.

And then just moving up to the area of the jaw,

Your throat.

And totally normal if there's some tightness in there and paths and more sensitive folks.

They care so much they often want to verbalize with their throats.

How much they care and how much they love and how much they feel.

If it feels tight there at all,

Continue to love yourself.

Breathe into it.

Send a deep compassion and acceptance.

You feel because you love.

Moving up to the jaw.

Maybe open the jaw a couple times like a big yawn.

Space around the eyes,

Scalp.

Just accepting and loving on any tightness there.

Any holding on,

Any pain.

And then next few exhales continue to let all that energy go down through your core,

Through the pelvis down into the earth.

You completely received and held and transformed.

No problem by the earth.

And next just feel your whole body from head to toe.

Next exhale.

You just feel all the tingling of having a body.

And as an empath,

Someone who cares deeply for others,

You can care just to sleep deeply for yourself.

Just feel all the tingling and warmth and coolness,

Places that make contact.

Just a few rounds of breath being with your breath,

Being with all the sensations of breath and body.

Each exhale more fully loving and caring for yourself.

Perhaps a little smile wants to come to your face because it feels good to love and care for all the tight constricted parts,

For all the emotions,

For all the concern you have for yourself and all beings.

And now because you're an empath,

Because you care so deeply,

Know and feel that all the love you're sending to yourself right now and all the relief,

Know that it's limitless.

So now just let it flow out to this world you care so deeply about,

This world of folks and animals and nature,

Ecology that you care so much for.

Just know that you can send out limitless good energy and healing.

It's the same that you have available for yourself internally.

For the next few rounds just let it flow out into the to the world.

Maybe you have that gentle smile.

Maybe just seeing all the beings you care about smiling and feeling better,

The earth healing.

And then just feel and imagine that all is well.

All your concern and love is valid and helpful.

When you feel alive,

You feel well,

You feel whole,

And you know somehow that you have this power to heal all that you see and all that you let into your awareness.

And just imagine and feel all beings as healed and well and capable and satisfied.

And then I'll be nice and quiet for just about 30 seconds.

And just be with your breath,

Be with this moment,

Be with this feeling of love and kindness and compassion for it all,

Yourself and all beings.

And then just three more rounds of breath.

Very much here,

Just the right amount of effort to be here and present for the last three breaths with this feeling of caring and loving and okayness.

Now we're at the end of our practice.

And just send out any benefit that you had from this practice to your healing and then to all beings and the planet itself,

Everywhere.

And if you like you can end with a little bow and a smile.

Loved this, I often carry so much stuff from others. I woke with a bad throat and feeling unwell but by showing myself loving kindness and letting go I realised I was holding onto someone else’s pain and carrying it. After this meditation I feel well again. Will be returning to this regularly. Thank you ☺️ πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
