A simple practice to do before or in bed. Tending to your inner child and deeply receiving rest. For better sleep and connection. We will guide you with breath and sound into not just letting go of your day but opening to a state of healing before, and as you drift into sleep. Great for moments when it feels difficult and for deep practice for those ready for bed to get the most replenishment as they sleep.

Welcome.

This meditation is to bring some love to your inner child,

Your inner children,

And to clear your energy body to prepare you to have a restful and nourishing sleep.

So we'll begin just by allowing your body to find a comfortable place to lie down.

So this could mean lying on your back,

Lying on your belly,

Lying on your side in the fetal position.

It could mean trying out a few of those things.

And once you find a place,

You can start to notice the parts of your body that are making contact with the bed,

The sheets,

The blankets,

The feeling of the bed beneath your body.

As you notice the parts of your skin that might be making contact,

Let that bring in a reminder that in this moment,

Your body is safe and regardless of what you might feel inside,

This is a place where you can really come home to rest,

That your body is a safe place to rest.

Take three really conscious deep inhales and exhales in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Just let yourself take some time to unwind.

You might notice there's a lot of energy inside your brain,

Your heart,

Your belly,

Your sex organs,

Your legs.

And if you notice any of that,

Just allow it to be here as a part of the process of being open to letting go.

As you take this time to notice the sensations that are arising both inside and making contact with your bed and where you're resting your head,

Your pillow this evening,

Welcome the child within you to also be here now.

You can imagine this child's kind of spooned inside or spread out if that being could use some space,

But start to let your heart connect to this part of you that maybe didn't get put to bed in a really uplifting way when you were young or felt really alone and afraid in some moments or abandoned or did have a strong connection to the adults around him or her or them,

But still just had this inner sense of not feeling safe to let go or surrender.

And just see what comes up for you around this in this moment.

Maybe everything just feels really calm and really soothing,

And you can just kind of drift into that experience as you let your heart love this little one,

Your heart as in the muscle inside of you that actively can love.

And even if in this moment there's a shutdown,

Let this be an invitation to a gentle release.

Start to consciously breathe in and around the space at the center of your chest,

Your heart space,

And just notice the sensation there.

Does it feel tight,

Open,

Closed,

Numb?

Allow anything that you notice to be a really valid observation because that's your experience and it's totally valid.

It's welcomed.

You can imagine the breath kind of massaging this space,

And if there is like a pain or a point that feels tense,

Just breathe around it.

So we're not trying to fix or change anything about you in this moment.

We're just giving you and this child inside you some space,

Some good energy to let go into.

You can imagine the healing energy and light or waters of grace just surrounding you and embracing your bodies,

Your hearts,

Your minds.

If it feels hard to imagine this,

Then just stay focused on your breath,

Gently coming in and out of your heart,

With each exhale softening your fingers and your toes,

Your ankles and your wrists,

Your eyes behind your eyelids,

Your ears and your inner ears,

Softening your teeth and your tongue and your jaw.

And as you do this,

You're inviting both beings,

Both the adult you as this primary caretaker of this younger you in this moment,

To be held in the embrace of this great power of love.

Softening into your throat and your chest.

If there's any tears that want to release to help you soften into your evening,

Then just invite them to gently release,

Softening into your belly,

Your hips,

Your pelvis,

Releasing any tension or movement of energy in your legs and really claiming this space and time as your own.

This is your space.

And as you allow yourself to keep practicing softening into sleep,

You can open yourself up to receiving any messages or any healing in your dreams that could be useful for you and for the child within in this moment on your journey,

In this moment of your life.

Take a breath and thank your body,

Your physical body,

All of the organs and systems of your being,

Your lungs,

Your heart,

The blood that flows through you.

Thank the child inside.

Take your mind and just send some love to your life,

To the challenging aspects of your life right now,

To the gifts and the ease,

To the knowing and to the unknown.

Just say thank you.

Thank you.

Help me let go.

Help me release.

Help me remember who I truly am.

You can let your breath return to a natural breath and let your body continue to drift into sleep.

As you continue to let go,

Releasing any tensions that are left,

Any gripping,

Let your whole body and energy body and emotional bodies be cleansed and loved and healed without you having to do anything at all.

Sweet dreams.

May you be blessed and may you feel loved tonight,

Tomorrow and for all of your days.

Imagine kissing or squeezing gently this little one,

Letting you also be given an energetic squeeze or gentle kiss on the head from spirit,

From love,

From grace.

Amen.
