
Yoga Nidra For Deep Listening
The body-mind holds so much wisdom that we can tap into at any time. In this practice of Yoga Nidra we take time to explore and listen to the energy centers in the body, also knows as chakras, to feel into what wisdom our body can share with us. This journey of sacred rest is perfect just before bed to help you drift off into dreamy sleep.

Just taking a few release breaths as we get settled,
Settled,
Settled.
Perhaps this is the first time you've checked in with your breath this week or today.
Perhaps you're rather attuned to noticing the breath.
Perhaps you begin to notice that as we take these few minutes at the beginning of our practice just to focus on the breath,
There's a natural settling,
A natural release that begins to unfold.
Noticing the different layers of tension that begin to melt off the body as the bones become so heavy.
You feel that these bones begin to settle into the earth beneath you.
Perhaps you're laying on the earth,
Perhaps the earth is a few floors down.
Just taking a moment just to acknowledge,
Acknowledge that we are on this earth,
This beautiful mother earth that gives us so much,
Provides us with all that we need.
And we are so blessed to be here.
And as we begin our practice tonight,
Let the awareness sink right into the center of the heart,
This heart space.
And we begin with just the most quiet moment of gratitude.
Gratitude for this earth,
Gratitude for this practice.
Gratitude for the space and time.
To be able to go on this intergalactic journey of healing.
And perhaps one more deep inhale.
Feeling all the way down to the bottom of the lungs.
And one more exhale.
And from this space feeling the different meeting points between the body and the earth.
Heels and the calves and the buttocks and shoulders and the back of the head.
Feeling all these points individually.
And letting the awareness fill all these points simultaneously.
Feeling the space from the heels to the crown of the head,
Feeling the length of the body.
Feeling from pinky finger to pinky finger the width of the body.
Feeling from the sternum to the back,
The depth of the body.
Becoming attuned,
Becoming accustomed to this space the body is currently resting in.
Tune into the sense of sound,
The sense of hearing.
Could you notice any sounds that appear to be coming in through the right ear?
We're not labeling these sounds or judging them,
We're simply just letting them exist.
Could you tune into sounds in the left?
Are there any sensations that accompany these sounds in the body?
Could you notice any sounds that are coming from above?
Any sounds that appear to be coming from below?
Could you notice any sounds from inside the body?
The rumbling and gurgling of the stomach.
You being digested and turned into energy.
Perhaps you hear blood pumping,
Being circulated around.
Fresh vital blood,
Rich with oxygen and nutrients.
Perhaps you hear a sweet,
Faint sound of your breath.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Settling back so deeply into this heart space.
The space that's not only physical,
But energetic as well.
And from this heart space,
Could you listen?
Could you listen here?
Maybe hear the whisper of Sen Kalpa.
Calling in Sen Kalpa now.
Just repeating it three times to activate this sacred truth vow.
I'm going to be doing Sen Kalpa rest now in my heart center.
Begin our little journey around the body where different parts will be named.
The practice will begin on the right hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger.
The palm of the hand and the back of the hand and the wrist.
The forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Armpit.
Right side of chest.
The front,
Side and back of the right ribs.
The hip,
Knee,
Shin,
Ankle.
Top of the foot,
The sole of the foot,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
And fifth toe.
Letting the awareness feel the entire right side of the body.
Drifting over to the left thumb,
Index finger,
Ring finger,
Pinky finger,
Palm of the hand,
The back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Armpit.
Left side of the ribs,
The front,
Side and back.
Hip,
Thigh,
Knee,
Shin,
Ankle.
The top of the foot and the sole of the foot and the left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
And fifth toe.
The entire left side of the body.
Letting the awareness feel the entire left side of the body.
The entire left side of the body.
Moving up towards the backside of the body,
Beginning with the heels,
The calves,
The backs of the knees,
The backs of the thighs,
And the buttocks.
The tip of the tailbone to the midbrain,
Midbrain to the tailbone.
The right shoulder blade,
The left shoulder blade,
Underneath the right shoulder blade,
Underneath the left shoulder blade,
And the space between the shoulder blades.
The back of the neck.
The back of the head.
The crown of the head.
The center of the forehead and the center of the eyebrows.
The right eyebrow and the left eyebrow and the entire forehead.
The right temple and the left temple,
And the right ear and the left ear and the right inner ear and the left inner ear.
The space between the ears where the pituitary and pineal gland live the tongue,
The gums,
The teeth the upper lip and the lower lip and the line where lips meet the right side of the jaw and the left side of the jaw and the chin the center of the throat the right collarbone and the left collarbone and the right lung and the left lung and the heart center the internal organs the right side of the pelvis,
The left side of the pelvis and the entire pelvic floor the pelvic floor and awareness now fill the entire body from the tips of the toes to the crown of the head the entire body lit up with awareness a new energy and new life force touching every part of the body as we hold the entire body in more awareness let me know if you notice the breath,
If you notice the inhales and the exhales and where do you notice the breath in the body?
Where do you notice the breath in the body?
The tongue the left side of the tongue the right side of the tongue do you notice the breath in the chest?
Maybe the belly?
Maybe the nose?
Maybe you notice the breath in the center of the forehead?
Maybe in the heart space?
Or maybe the breath has a different journey in store and guides your conscious awareness somewhere different wherever the breath takes you tonight with the awareness remain there and what would it be to listen?
What would it be to listen to this space that the breath has led you to?
Can you see colors?
Images,
Words?
Maybe the breath has led you through a few places?
Could you listen?
What would it be to listen to the body,
The body mind in this space with the music out with that let go of the breath now let go of any visuals or patterns or colors and let the awareness come back to the body filling this entire space what would it be to notice the space just outside of the body?
Could you notice the space just a few inches outside of the body?
Then could you notice the body?
You can move back and forth between the body and the space just outside of the body feeling what it's like in these two bodies just outside of the body,
The physical body let the awareness settle back into the body let go of this little healing game and come to rest in the third eye in this space that we activated by calling in the pituitary and the pineal glands and from this space what would it be to imagine the following objects or experiences?
An inverted triangle your favorite place in nature earth from outer space could you listen here?
A six petal lotus water a crocodile could you listen here?
Yellow flowers a downward pointing triangle fire could you listen here?
A green hexagram an antelope air could you listen here?
A triangle and a circle blue a white elephant space could you listen here?

A thousand petal lotus nothingness could you listen here?
