This is a guided meditation for those who have received the COVID vaccine.
So you've just taken your first or second shot of the vaccine.
Maybe it's Pfizer,
Johnson & Johnson,
Moderna.
The important thing is that you were able to get there to the site wherever it may have been and successfully receive your shot.
That's an achievement and you should congratulate yourself for that.
It's been a tough time,
But you getting this shot is a symbol of hope and abundance for all of us.
Maybe you're feeling some worry or apprehension about the vaccine itself or possible side effects.
I'm here to tell you that you're going to be okay.
Let's take a deep breath.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Make your breaths a little longer as you go,
But don't overly focus on it.
Notice how the air feels coming in and out.
Now,
Begin to tune into your body.
Specifically,
Feel the area where you got the actual shot.
Maybe you feel dullness,
Aches,
Tiredness.
Acknowledge those feelings.
Give them the space to exist and compassionately hold them in your awareness.
Notice their intensity,
Their duration.
Are they fading in,
Fading out?
How did these sensations sit within your body?
Does the actual feeling change or shift because of your awareness?
Do you feel a subtle nuance in how these sensations manifest?
Maybe the arm feels different than it normally does.
Heavier,
Denser,
Fatigued,
Tense.
It's important that we learn to acknowledge those feelings.
Not to judge them or hold any assumptions,
But to honestly allow those feelings to run their course,
So to speak.
Hold them in the light of your awareness and shine compassion onto your current experience.
Maybe there's some anxiety in the rest of your body.
Notice what your experience of anxiety is,
Physically,
Without rationalizing,
Mentalizing,
Or changing it.
Is it sharp?
Is it dull?
Does it feel hollow,
Full?
And with that noticing may come thoughts,
Limiting cognitions,
Beliefs about getting the vaccine,
About taking a chance on this new technology.
But it's important to note that although our anxieties and worries are there to protect us from the unknown,
We have to make the best decision with what we have.
You can rest assured knowing that you made the best possible decision that you could have and that it's okay to feel worried,
Wondering what's going to come next,
What the next step is.
But let's take this time to be present with ourselves.
To not engage those worries or fears,
But instead to remain fully in our own bodies.
My voice will be quiet for a time while I ask you to please stay present with any sensations or feelings that may come up.
Now please be open to any guidance,
Inspiration,
Or insight that may come during this time.
Slowly⦠Slowly,
Begin to return your attention to my voice.
Your fingers,
Your toes.
Slowly reintegrate into your daily life.
Notice if those sensations where you got the shot are still there.
Maybe they've changed.
And join me in gratitude for a moment as we thank ourselves for taking the time not only to do something for our own health,
But to take a step towards a better,
More peaceful and whole life.
Thank you for listening.
