Mindful Breath Meditation This meditation focuses on your breath without controlling it in any way.

You are simply practicing being mindful of each breath you take.

You may feel free to sit upright or lie down.

Settle into what is a comfortable and restful position for you.

Bring your awareness to your breath.

As you breathe in,

Notice your inhale.

As you breathe out,

Notice your exhale.

Let your breath be as it is.

Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.

Notice the gentle pause between each inhale and exhale.

Continue to breathe naturally and mentally count down each breath,

Starting with the number 18 and working your way to 1.

When your mind drifts or you lose count,

Start back at 18 and continue to work your way back to 1.

Mentally repeat with your natural breath.

Inhale 18.

Exhale 18.
