Hi there,

My name is Anita Kaiser and I'm a certified EFT practitioner and the living priestess.

And today I wanted to talk to you a bit about the window of tolerance.

If you aren't familiar with this term,

The window of tolerance is your ability,

The space where you are able to stay in your regulated,

Calm,

Nervous system.

And so we all have varying degrees of our window of tolerance.

And what happens in life is stressors come in.

And some of them throw you out of your window of tolerance.

For example,

All of us have had our window of tolerance shrunk during this time of COVID.

So even if things are reasonable,

Well managed in your life,

Because of COVID,

It has added additional stress to us as a collective.

And each time additional stress comes in,

It shrinks our capacity to stay in that calm,

Regulated state.

So let's say normal life,

Your window of tolerance is the size of a beach ball.

That's when things are moving along,

Things are comfortable as expected,

You know what's going on.

And then work starts to get really stressful and your window of tolerance shrinks just a little bit.

And then you and your partner start to fight.

And your window of tolerance shrinks a little bit more.

And then something happens to the car,

And your window of tolerance shrinks a little bit more.

And so each time something new comes in,

There's a little bit of contraction,

A little bit of contraction,

And a little bit of contraction.

And so you as a person still have the same triggers in the world,

The same amount of things that make you uncomfortable or are upsetting,

But you have less capacity to stay regulated because the window of tolerance has shrunk.

So stress,

Everyday daily stress,

Is cumulative in the body.

And so if you work a really stressful job for 20 years,

Even though you may feel like you're managing that stress,

All right,

It is shrinking your window of tolerance.

And so what often happens then is we have those breaks where you lose your car keys,

For example,

And you start to cry.

Or your child asks you for something and you lose your mind,

Like you just can't respond.

It feels overwhelming.

The anger is popping up.

Your emotional state doesn't feel regulated,

And this is often because the window of tolerance has shrunk.

So hopefully that gives you a little bit of information around the window of tolerance and a little understanding in how it can continue to shrink.

Some of the things you can do to increase your window of tolerance is meditation,

EFT tapping,

Yoga to help connect you in with your body and awareness.

And there are other things as well,

But those are just the top three that I like to recommend.

So let me know if you have any questions about this,

And if you found this helpful,

Please do rate and share with people.

And don't forget to follow me as well so you're notified of any new meditations,

Lives,

And talks that I'm sharing on Insight.

Thanks so much and have a beautiful day.
