How much longer will you be too busy to fully enter into your own life?
This is a quote from the book Gather by Octavia Rahim.
This really caught my attention this past week.
This past week I have been allowing myself to rest,
Just not feeling well,
And really tuning in and listening to my body.
I have been on this journey of wanting to get back to myself,
Getting my body back,
My life where I want it.
And my spiritual mama coach,
Avine Banish,
Told me,
She said to me,
You are already there,
You are already that.
And introduced this thought,
What if we are all whole just as we are now?
What if this busyness and seeking and wanting and desiring,
Although those are beautiful things,
Goals are beautiful to have.
They give us hope and we can reach towards something.
But to really sit with yourself when there's no distractions.
It's kind of like during the day we are so distracted by work and kids and just the busyness that life brings us.
We don't have time to really think and process and come into our body.
We're so into our head.
And then right before we are about to go to sleep,
That's when the thoughts flood in.
The thoughts that we were so distracted from all day,
They appear because we cannot run away from ourself.
Our body,
Your body never lies to us.
Our bodies are truth tellers.
And when we are overly stressed and overly worked,
Many times we will get sick or we'll start feeling the physical pain in our body.
And this past week with myself not feeling well,
I allowed myself to sleep and be on the couch and in bed for three days.
And I really listened.
I really listened to what my body needed for food.
What my body wanted to do.
I really wanted to accomplish my goals and keep working out and keep the house clean and do all the things.
But I paused.
And if you are someplace in your life where you are feeling overwhelmed and maybe your life is full of necessary and unnecessary distractions,
Maybe it's a time to pause and go within.
Because when we go within,
We get back to our home,
Back to ourself,
Back to our own life.
And this is where we can feel empowered.
This is where we take our power back.
This is where we ask ourself,
What feels good?
What do I want?
Although I did not get much work done,
I felt inspired to create a painting because it was,
It felt like ease.
And my body is craving ease right now.
What is your body craving?
When we pause,
We give ourself and the universe life permission to create magic.
And I believe when we do this,
When we stop seeking and forcing and we arrive home,
When we sit in the stillness,
When we sit with our feelings,
When we sit with our thoughts and not react to them,
But just to be with them,
To let things settle,
To let life settle.
I believe the universe,
God,
Source energy is strong enough and amazing enough to work everything out.
And this is where we really trust in ourselves.
And where we trust that other people will make decisions and choices based on what's best for them.
We let go of the attachment of wanting to have order and control.
And we trust.
And this is a practice for myself anyway,
That the more I practice following what feels good to me and honoring how I feel and honoring my needs,
Honoring my boundaries,
The more confidence builds,
The more self-love builds.
When I keep my word to myself and follow through,
The trust within myself builds.
So I invite you this week to be still and to honor how you feel and honor your needs.
And maybe that is journaling or writing in a notebook,
Your thoughts,
Your feelings,
Just getting them out.
Just sitting with how you feel in your thoughts and not reacting,
Not responding to any of it.
But to trust that everything is working out for your highest good.
Trust yourself so much that everything is working out for your highest good.
And so it is.
The wholeness in me honors the wholeness in you.
Namaste.
