Hello,

My name is Angela Rose and I'm a meditation instructor and self love coach.

Thank you for joining me here for another episode of Come Back Home to You,

An empowerment and meditation podcast meant to help get you out of your head and come back home,

Back home to your body and your heart,

Where all of your answers lie,

A place,

A safe and sacred space to discover yourself and to find clarity.

In today's episode,

We are talking about freedom.

Freedom is a feeling.

I want to ask you,

When is the last time you felt free?

Free to be yourself,

Free to be in your body,

Free to explore,

Free to laugh,

Free to cry,

Free to feel angry even.

Many times we want to hold ourselves back because we are afraid of what other people will think of us.

We tell ourselves a story that we are a certain person.

Maybe we consider ourselves spiritual,

Where we are almost afraid if we don't feel anything except for positive.

And I'm here to tell you,

We're human,

We're messy,

And we're not meant to be on the high roller coaster all the time.

That's not sustainable.

We will hit our lows,

We will hit the valleys.

So in today's podcast,

I want to invite you to look at areas in your life where you may be white knuckling,

Where are you gripping,

Where are you trying to hold on to,

What are you trying to control?

Are you wanting to know the outcome?

How things are going to happen?

How is it going to unfold?

When is it going to happen?

I know that feeling.

I'm a type of person that when I get my mind on something,

I want it and I want to make it happen right now.

So maybe you can relate with that.

The magic is in letting things unfold.

I know it's so much easier said than done.

But think back to a time in your life where you prayed for something.

You prayed for something so hard and now you have that thing.

Remember back to that time.

And it was really in the unfolding of that,

In that journey of things unfolding for you that made you feel really good and excited.

I want you to,

I'm going to read a poem to you.

And I want you to think of freedom right now.

It's a feeling just like anger,

Sadness,

Frustration,

Joy.

All these are feelings and I love the month of February and we are now in the month of February and it's the love month and I'm all about love.

But I'm really about self love.

Like what does it feel like to really love ourselves?

And for me it is allowing myself to feel free.

That's the,

If we look on the emotional chart,

The emotional scale,

Freedom I think is even on top of joy.

Freedom is a high vibe feeling.

But it's something that we need to allow ourselves to have.

Do you ever feel like sometimes you want to say something to someone or you want to have a difficult conversation but maybe you don't because it's just you don't want to go there?

Or maybe even you want to laugh and you find yourself holding back for some reason.

Maybe you are stuffing away those tears.

Maybe you are not allowing yourself to fully be who you are.

This poem is called The Breath of Freedom.

Fill those lungs with strength,

With courage,

With glorious guidance of universal mystery.

For it is the power of life,

The breath of freedom for your voice can sing to change the world.

And I love what this says about filling our lungs with strength,

With courage because those are action.

Those are action steps to feel brave,

To feel strong,

To feel courageous.

We need to take action like a warrior,

Which is not easy but possible.

And then the poem goes on to say,

With glorious guidance of universal mystery,

For it is the power of life.

And that makes me think of this universal source energy that you are a part of,

That we are all a part of.

And sometimes we can feel really separate.

We feel alone,

Especially right now with everything that's unfolding in the world.

It's easy to feel alone right now and it's very common.

But you are not alone.

We are all connected.

You are a part of source energy,

Are a part of this universal God energy right now.

Even if you don't feel it,

It doesn't mean it's not real.

It doesn't mean you're not a part of it.

Suffering is,

To me,

It is the feeling of wanting things to be different than they really are.

I have had so much freedom in my life by acknowledging that I cannot control anyone or anything.

I cannot control.

I cannot control how people act to me,

How they treat me,

How people on the street,

How people drive,

My kids even,

My animals,

My cat.

I can't control anything.

I can only control me.

And that's where your power comes in.

Your power comes in,

In the pause.

Taking that big deep breath,

Choosing how you are going to react,

Choosing what you want to choose.

You get to choose who you want to be.

A lot of times I know we can feel stuck in the roles that we play.

People treat us a certain way,

Therefore we act a certain way.

And that doesn't have to be,

You get to choose who you are.

So where in your life do you want to feel more freedom?

Where are you currently feeling free?

What things have you been trying to control or white knuckle,

That white knuckle grip?

What do you need to let go of?

When we let go of that steering wheel,

That grip,

Whatever it is,

Whatever you're holding onto,

It's like imagine you're trying to hold water in your hands.

Do you know how hard it is to hold water in your hands?

It's almost impossible.

It wants to slip through and find its way through your hands.

You have to really hold your palms together very tightly to hold some water in your hands.

But when we let go of that water that wants to escape,

That doesn't want to be part of our hands,

The water wants to be somewhere else.

It doesn't want to be in the palm of our hand.

So when we can just let that go,

Open our hands and say,

Okay,

I trust.

I trust that the universe,

God,

Whatever,

Whatever you believe in is going to guide me.

I trust in my inner guidance.

I trust that I'm a part of source energy,

That that guidance is going to guide me,

That security comes from within.

A lot of times we think security is an outside source,

A paycheck,

A job.

I myself has had experience with losing the job of my dreams,

Which led me to where I am.

So there is a piece of your life that if you are wanting to control,

It's wanting you to set it loose.

It's wanting you to set it free.

But freedom is an inside feeling.

Freedom is something that you create.

So where are you ready to let go of?

You can just imagine that you're,

You can do this now,

Put your palms together.

Imagine you're holding this heavy,

Heavy thing that just wants you to let go of it and just open your hands and let it go.

And say to yourself in your mind or out loud,

I am ready.

I am ready for more.

I trust.

I'm allowing.

And when we open our hands,

We can receive.

You can receive whatever is meant to come in your world.

The mantra for today is today I set myself free.

I let go of what no longer serves me and move in the direction of what I want.

And so wherever you are,

I invite you to relax into a short guided meditation with me.

So on your next inhale,

I want you to tighten up your whole body,

Squinching up your face,

Bring your shoulders to your ears,

Tighten your hips,

Your stomach,

Your whole body.

And on your exhale,

Fully release,

Relax and let go.

On your inhale,

Do it one more time.

Fully tighten up your whole body,

Tense,

Tense,

Tense.

And when you're ready,

Exhale,

Fully letting go.

Inhale one last time.

Inhale,

Tighten up your whole body.

Exhale,

Fully let go and relax.

And I want you to bring to your mind something you have been worrying about,

Stressing about,

Trying to control,

Wondering about,

Whatever's in the forefront of your mind.

I want you to think about that.

A lot of times we think of meditation like we have to think positive or we have to try to get rid of these thoughts.

And that's not the case at all because our minds are brilliant and we're always thinking about it.

And this is coming to you for a reason.

It's bugging you for a reason.

It wants your attention.

It's like a little child that's tugging at your,

Your pant leg saying,

I need you.

So I want you to think of that one thing.

And I want you to put your palms together,

Holding your palms together.

Like you are trying to keep that all within your palms.

This thing,

This heavy,

Heavy thing.

And if you are ready to let go of this on the count of three together,

We're going to let go of whatever this heavy thing is to you.

Take a deep breath in your nose.

Exhale out of your mouth.

One,

Two,

Three.

Open your palms up if you're ready to let that thing go.

And imagine this heavy thing that's been on your mind that you want,

That you're curious about,

That you're trying to make happen.

Imagine that just falling to the ground.

And Mother Earth,

The ground,

She knows how to take things and to renew it like compost.

And we're trusting,

You're trusting that Mother Earth,

She's taking your heavy thing.

And she's going to make something beautiful out of it.

More beautiful than you even could think in your mind.

And I want you to imagine a beautiful flower coming up out of the ground.

And just take notice of what color that flower is.

And imagine you pick that flower up,

You pick it out of the ground,

And you bring it close to your nose and you smell it.

What does it smell like?

What does it look like?

What does it feel like?

Maybe you touch the petals.

Is it a big flower?

Is it a small flower?

Is it a wild flower?

And I want you to bring this flower,

Bring it close to your heart.

What does this flower represent to you?

What does it mean to you?

To me,

It makes me think of the softness,

The vulnerability that is okay to express within myself.

The trust that I don't know how to grow flowers and I don't know how they grow,

But they grow and I get to be a part of it and to experience it and you get to be a part of it and experience it.

You get to experience this beauty,

This growth that is here for you,

That happens naturally in the world that we don't have to try to control.

It just happens.

Trees grow,

Flowers grow,

Bees feed us,

And they're not even supposedly by physics to be able to fly because their wings are so small and their bodies are so heavy,

But they still do,

Which provides us with food and more flowers and beauty and joy.

And I want you to repeat silently or out loud.

I allow greatness to come to me.

I'm going to say that two more times.

I allow greatness to come to me and I want you to say this with me.

I allow greatness to come to me.

It may be time to do something different.

It may be time to step outside your comfort zone,

But this is where courage and bravery and the feeling of freedom come into play where you actually are able to feel that.

So we're going to end the meditation by bringing your palms together,

Touching your forehead and saying out loud or to yourself,

I am wise.

Bring your palms to your mouth.

I speak kindness to myself and others and bring your palms down to your heart.

I am love and the wholeness in me honors the wholeness in you.

Namaste.

Feel free to these next few minutes to relax,

To keep your eyes closed,

To feel into this even more.

Or maybe you take out a notebook or your journal and you journal for a few minutes on what you're ready to let go of and what you are ready to allow.

Thank you for joining me for another episode of Come Back Home to You.

I believe in you.

Keep shining.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.
