Find a position that feels as comfortable as possible right now.
You don't have to sit in a certain way the whole time or hold your body still.
Just let yourself settle in however you can.
And throughout this meditation,
If you need to adjust or move,
It's okay.
When you're ready,
Take a gentle breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
That's all you have to do.
You don't have to take a big,
Deep breath.
Just breathe in whatever way feels natural.
And breathe out.
I know you're probably in a lot of pain right now and hurting.
I know how exhausting that can be when the pain feels like it's taking up all the space in your body and in your mind.
For these next few moments,
There's nothing you need to figure out,
Nothing you need to fix.
Just be here.
Take another gentle breath in.
And as you breathe out,
See if you can soften just a little.
Maybe relax your shoulders.
Maybe your jaw can loosen.
Notice if there's somewhere in your body that's been holding on tightly without you even realizing it.
And if the part of your body is just too painful to relax,
That's okay too.
You don't have to force anything.
Just notice that even with the pain,
There might be parts of your body that might feel a little more comfortable.
Maybe it's your hands or your feet.
Or the feeling of something soft beneath you.
Let your attention rest there for just a moment.
And when the pain pulls your attention back,
Which it probably will,
That's okay.
You can just gently bring your attention back to your breathing.
And noticing the details of the cool air entering your nostrils,
Filling your lungs and what that feels like.
And noticing the sensations of the warm air as you exhale out to your nose.
Gently relaxing your body.
You don't have to fight the pain with every breath.
You don't have to try to make it disappear.
Right now,
All you're doing is just riding these waves and just giving yourself a little room to breathe,
Even when things are difficult or painful.
Just taking another gentle breath in.
Reminding yourself you can take this one moment at a time.
And a gentle breath out.
Exhaling out a little bit of the pain.
Little bit of the tension.
Letting your breath rise and fall naturally.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
I want you to remember that you can come back to this feeling of calm anytime you need to.
You don't have to wait until the pain goes away to give yourself a moment of peace.
And if the pain starts to feel overwhelming again,
Or it feels like it just never goes away,
Just take these gentle breaths and remind yourself you don't have to fight the moment.
You can soften where you can.
You can take one gentle breath at a time.
Maybe it could be this little phrase that you carry with you today.
One breath,
One moment,
One step at a time.
So just be gentle with yourself,
Listen to what your body needs,
And take things as they come.
You're doing enough right here and right now.
Thank you so much for listening.
