This meditation serves as an antidote to process turbulent emotions from a place of equilibrium. The mind creates problems, it dreams up stories and gets absorbed into believing it’s suffering. This meditation encourages you to stop pursuing the inner critic and instead to feel into any painful feelings, in order to move through, release and transcend. When we stop avoiding and battling emotions, we process them from a place of peace.

In this meditation,

I will guide you into a state of relaxation,

Where you can easily and effortlessly begin to transcend any limiting belief patterns and move beyond the blocks they impose in the body.

In this way,

By ceasing to get involved in the mind's unsettling narratives,

While wholeheartedly allowing feelings to come and go,

You can begin to release what felt troublesome.

So just start by getting yourself into a position which will allow you to feel both at ease,

But also very focused and awake.

Taking the time to relax any tension in your body and feel into how your body can feel most nourished.

So it's always good to start by just becoming aware of your posture and feel what's going on.

Without labelling or judging,

Just notice if there's calm or unrest and give yourself full permission to just let all states of mind be or express themselves in a wider sense of awareness that allows both restlessness and calm to move through you.

Because when you become that awareness which both witnesses but is somehow also completely intimate with life,

You might find that you begin to let go of trying to control your experience in any kind of way.

So the pain or sharpness or anything that arises somehow begins to pose less of a threat because it's allowed to be felt fearlessly and courageously as all resistance quite simply lets go.

And so I don't know what it is that you would like to face and release or unhook the mind from thoughts of good and bad,

Right and wrong,

And just see what comes up to breathe through.

Perhaps you can choose to challenge a belief pattern head on,

A fear or anger,

Or whatever it is which you've well quite frankly had enough of.

That person or memory that somehow triggers challenging emotions.

And as it manifests in your body,

You can perhaps find the persistence to challenge any judgments by instead just remaining impartial.

Not liking or disliking,

Just free from opinion,

Open to any possibility,

Whatever the outcome.

Feeling the tension as it is,

Noticing any heat or contractions,

And just simply not getting involved in wishing away or battling against as you take strident I'm sure you're aware that sometimes the mind gets carried away,

Caught up in dramas,

Revenge or jealousy,

Inferior,

Superior,

The list goes on.

But as soon as we choose to not take sides,

Something powerful can begin to take place.

The breath can become purposeful.

The force which moves the current by releasing all manner of perhaps convincing but even so unhelpful thoughts which so often sweep us away from our centre.

Because in staying centred we can respond from clarity,

Which is from where the most appropriate responses arise.

Feeling with purpose.

What does it feel like to be caught in fear or anger?

Unfair,

Anxious or restless?

Wanting to run or hide or fight the fight?

The heat,

The tension or the wanting to cry?

Staying composed means remaining neutral or holding experience in a wider sense of clarity which encourages movement from a kind fairer force from deep inside.

Beyond any suffering is a place of stillness which allows pain but remains undisturbed.

Beyond,

Or perhaps below,

Deep down where there's peace and calm and the uncomfortable ceases to disturb or distract from the slowing down and resting deeply.

Sometimes,

When you look for the root of the problem,

It's like diving into it,

Plunging into it and winding your way down to the source of the problem.

And if you keep going into it fearlessly and down through,

You might find yourself arriving at a place where stillness unravels anxiety while you stay poised and determined and focused.

Not getting caught up in the stories of the mind but instead going inwards to the place where you're most stable,

Balanced and surfing there like floating around in the eye of a storm,

Completely composed,

As disruptions fold in like kneading dough with purposeful words.

And if stronger currents of disturbance seek to unsettle,

Just refocus that desire to stay alert and balanced and above all summon the intention to no longer get swayed by the minds complaints.

Stay in the body and breathe purposefully to see what happens when you let go of that judgement.

Free yourself from trying to control and just stay in the open space with trust.

Stay grounded in the body,

In the belly,

In the base of the spine,

Feet firmly on the floor.

Unhooking from thoughts of injustice,

Insecurities,

Unwholesome feelings to instead stand in your power,

Resolutely,

Breathing purposefully from a wider sense of awareness.

Sometimes when we directly face our inner critic,

Not fighting it but challenging its need to justify harrowed stories,

We move to a place of power,

We begin to breathe deeper,

As our focus changes to resist getting carried off with desperate stories but instead to sink deeper,

To a place where wisdom shimmers like golden rays or shards of light.

Tingling sensations of trusting beyond each and every story that the mind reimagines as truth.

Currents of transcendence that plug into something more worthy of responding with dignity and trust.

Feeling the pain but releasing the thoughts which bound the mind to disillusioned upset.

Choosing to no longer believe old ways of upset or frustration but to instead stand steady like an anchor in your legs and hips.

Steadfast,

Loyal perhaps to truth.

Love,

Love without conditions.

Remaining impartial to even the most unfair or painful memories to heal them.

There's nothing we need to do to transcend.

It's more a matter of ceasing to get caught up in the mind and seeing how the related feelings in the body can begin to release as we penetrate deeper.

Like an arrow that goes straight through and trusts that light can beam through the places where suffering once stood.

The breath is steady,

The mind focused.

Fed up with stories which distract from presence.

Truly alive and able to receive.

And so whatever it is that you have faced can be met with kindness,

Compassion and above all clarity.

No more resisting,

No more denying.

But fully allowing it to move through as you continue to plunge deeper than ever before to the place where silence and stillness are known and have faith to sink into that place of transcendental wisdom.

The place beyond judgement and fear.

Where silence whispers somehow with encouragement.

Where the inner guide replaces the critic and all emotions are met with warmth and compassion.

Love and kindness.

Gentle and soothing.

And the whole of your body can release all tension to start feeling completely calm again.

Nourished.

Fulfilled because those issues which you wanted to challenge have been seen and you've reached the other side.

Where stillness allows a fresh perspective to finally forgive and free all burdens which no longer weigh you down.

And as you continue to just be gentle to yourself in that vulnerable place you can feel the subtle sensations in your body and notice how they invite rest.

And a calming down of the breath.

For the last few moments.

And you can bring this meditation in your own way to an end.
