Hello,

Welcome to the mindful coffee break.

If you can,

Hold your drink in both hands.

If it's too hot or too cold,

You can place it on a table and put your hands as close to your drink as possible,

Just so you can feel its presence.

Get yourself nice and relaxed,

Let go of any tension or tightness within your body.

Allow the mind to let go of any thoughts.

Allow your eyes to gently close.

Let us take a deep breath in,

And a deep breath out.

And another deep breath in,

And out.

One more deep breath in,

And out.

Now open your eyes again,

And look inside your drink.

Look inside and observe the movement of your drink.

Notice if it is swirling around or swaying side to side.

Observe that movement or stillness.

If there's any steam arising from your drink,

Observe the silhouettes of steam as they dance in the air.

Do you see any reflections within your drink?

Or can you see your own reflection?

If you can,

Give yourself a smile.

What colours can you see inside your drink?

How do the colours change as you look around?

Are there any new colours you've never seen before?

How do the colours complement each other?

What shapes can you see?

Are there any circles or squares or any other shapes?

Are there shapes within shapes?

What patterns can you see?

Observe how the movement,

The colours,

The shapes,

The patterns create the picture of your drink.

Now close your eyes again,

And bring your attention to the feeling in your hands and feel the presence of your drink in your palms.

Feel the energy in your fingertips.

Feel the shape of your drink around your hands.

Feel the temperature,

The hotness or the coldness.

If you're holding your drink,

Feel the weight of it.

Is it heavy or light?

Feel your grip.

Do you have a tight grip or a loose grip?

Feel the peace and the stillness your drink offers in this moment.

And be one without peace and stillness.

Bring your drink close to one of your ears and listen.

Listen to any sound coming from your drink.

And if there is no sound,

Tune into the silence.

Bring your drink to the other ear and see if there's a different quality to the sound or the silence.

Bring your drink to your nose and smell.

Smell the flavours,

The aromas.

Feel the energy through your nose.

Now take a few sips of your drink and as you do,

Allow the drink to swirl around your mouth and really absorb the flavour,

The texture,

The complexion.

When you complete your sip,

Observe the aftertaste and see what experience is there for you.

Now put your drink down and keep your eyes closed.

Get yourself back into a comfortable seated position.

Let us take a deep breath and a deep breath out.

And another deep breath in and out.

One more deep breath in and out.

Let us give thanks to everyone and everything that's contributed in providing this drink to us.

Let us first give thanks to the person who made the drink.

That could be yourself or it could be someone else.

Send your love and gratitude to this person.

You can do so out loud or in silence.

Let's give thanks to the shop worker at the store where we bought the products that are in our drinks and to the delivery drivers who may have delivered the products to us.

Let us send our love and gratitude to all the shop workers and delivery drivers.

Let's give thanks to the workers at the manufacturer of the products and to the logistics workers who have transported these products across the country.

Let us send our love and gratitude to all the manufacturer and logistics workers.

Let's give thanks to all the farmers who have grown the ingredients that are in our drinks.

The coffee beans,

The tea leaves,

The fruits,

The spices and all the other crops.

Let us send our love and gratitude to all the farmers around the world.

Let's give thanks to Mother Nature for providing the environments to allow all these ingredients to thrive,

To thrive so that we can enjoy them.

Let us send our love and gratitude to Mother Nature.

And finally,

Let's give thanks to ourselves for this practice and we can do this by wrapping arms around ourselves and give yourself a big warm hug.

And give yourself some love.

Give yourself some gratitude.

When you are ready you can release your hug,

Open your eyes and come back to the physical world.

Thank you for sharing your practice with me and I'll see you next time.
