Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
This meditation has been created for depressive individuals to help them managing their negative or depressive feelings and in this meditation we are going to focus on our body and our breathing and be in the present moment.
So begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down and once you're ready you can close your eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly exhale,
Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale and allow your body to relax and release any tension that you may be holding.
Now bring your attention to your breath and notice the sensation of the air entering your nose and filling your lungs and as you exhale feel the breath leaving your body,
Releasing any negativity or stress,
Don't work on your breath just let it be natural and observe the air entering and the air leaving your body,
Releasing any negativity or stress.
I now invite you to visualize yourself in a peaceful and serene environment,
It could be a beautiful garden,
A tranquil beach or a peaceful forest,
Simply imagine yourself surrounded by nature's beauty and tranquility,
Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin,
The gentle breeze brushing against your face and the soothing sounds of nature.
Now focus on your thoughts and emotions,
Acknowledge any negative or depressive feelings that may be present and without judgment observe these thoughts and emotions as if they are passing clouds in the sky,
Allow them to come and go without attaching any significance to them,
Imagine them drifting away leaving behind a clear and calm mind and if you tend to be lost in your thoughts simply bring back your attention to your breath,
So you simply observe your negative feelings without judgment,
You allow them to come and go without attaching any significance to them and you imagine them drifting away leaving behind a clear and calm mind.
I now invite you to shift your attention to your body,
I want you to scan your body from head to toe and notice any areas of tension or discomfort and with each breath imagine sending healing and soothing energy to these areas,
Allowing them to relax and release any negativity,
I want you to feel the tension melting away and being replaced by a sense of ease and lightness,
So you can scan any part of your body from head to toe and notice any areas of tension and you send healing and soothing energy to these areas and as you continue to breathe deeply,
Affirm positive statements to yourself,
You could repeat phrases such as I am worthy of love and happiness or I have the strength to overcome challenges so you could say I am worthy of love and happiness or I have the strength to overcome challenges and I want you to allow these affirmations to sink into your subconscious mind,
Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones,
I am worthy of love and happiness,
I am worthy of love and happiness,
I have the strength to overcome challenges,
I have the strength to overcome challenges,
I invite you to feel the power of these words resonating within you,
Uplifting your spirit and bringing a sense of hope and optimism,
Take a few more moments to simply be present in this peaceful state,
Enjoy the stillness and tranquility within you,
Allow yourself to fully immerse in this moment of self-care and self-love and embrace the feeling of inner peace and contentment that fills your heart and when you are ready,
Slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment,
Gently opening your eyes and taking a moment to express gratitude for this time of healing and reflection,
Carry the sense of calm and positivity with you as you continue your day and remember that this meditation can be a helpful tool in managing depressive feelings but it is important to seek help and support if you are experiencing persistent or severe symptoms of depression,
You are not alone and there are resources out there available to assist you on your journey towards mental well-being,
