Welcome.

In this practice,

I'll be bringing up various topics and questions.

If you're able to find a private place where you can close your eyes,

That's great.

And if you don't have privacy and choose to use headphones and listen with your eyes open,

That's great too.

So first take a moment to see if there's any way you can make your body more comfortable.

You might shift your posture or stretch or consciously relax any areas of tension.

Our first topic is presence.

How present do you feel right now?

Does your mind feel busy or scattered?

Or do you feel here in present moment reality?

Either way,

I'll be giving you a moment to focus on one or more things that are in actual,

Factual reality.

This could be the surface beneath you,

Any sounds you hear,

Anything you can feel with your hands or feet,

Your body breathing,

Or if your eyes are open,

You could simply notice what you see.

So take a moment now to focus on one or more of your senses.

Now let's move to self-compassion.

If you could offer yourself some compassion regarding the work stress you've been experiencing,

What would that sound or look like?

It could be a compassionate,

Comforting statement,

Or it could be through your own touch,

Perhaps placing one hand over the other in a soothing gesture.

Even if it's hard to offer yourself compassion,

Consider what you would love to hear from someone else right now,

Or what you might offer someone you care about who's feeling stressed.

So take a moment now and see if you can offer yourself some form of compassion for the stress you've been under.

Next let's look at communication.

Is there something or someone you need to communicate with that might help decrease your stress?

Do you need to reach out to someone and ask for help?

Do you need to speak to a supportive,

Non-work-related person to express some of your thoughts and feelings?

Perhaps you have an unmet need and you can make a respectful request to someone to see if you can get your need met.

Take a moment now to think about any type of potential conversations you could have that might help decrease your stress.

And our final topic is your body.

How are you treating this body you live in?

Most of us are sure to charge up and care for our smartphones and other devices,

But how about your body battery?

How nourished and hydrated do you feel?

How rested are you?

How often are you stretching,

Taking screen breaks,

Or getting fresh air?

Ask yourself if there's anything that your body might need or appreciate that you can offer it when we finish with our practice in a moment.

Good.

So this completes our time together.

I am wishing you excellent self-care and many moments of peace.

Thank you so much for joining me today.
