Welcome.
If your mind is busy with thoughts and worries,
Or seeking solutions that are not apparent right now,
Let's take some time together to speak to this part of the mind like you might speak to a worried child.
You can feel free to absorb my words or alter them to better fit your needs.
Just remember to make them self-compassionate.
Feel free to keep your eyes open or closed,
And let's begin with a few deep breaths.
Allow your forehead to soften as you breathe.
Want your neck and shoulders to soften and release any tension or tightness as you exhale.
And let's begin speaking to the busy mind.
Dear busy mind,
I know you are only trying to help.
I know you think that if you keep thinking,
You are somehow going to figure things out and keep us safe.
If you could have fixed or figured this out by now,
You would have.
Remember the many times in the past when you worried and worried and tried to figure something out and the situation either worked itself out or the circumstances eventually passed like all storms do.
I really appreciate you for trying to figure things out,
Dear mind.
I know that you are only trying to protect,
Prepare,
And plan.
I know you think it's a necessity to try to figure this out.
I want to assure you that overthinking and worrying do not bring clarity and solutions.
What leads to clarity is calm,
Presence,
Peace,
And surrender.
Clarity comes from a quiet mind.
If you had the answer to this situation,
You would have it by now.
Solutions come over time from letting go and staying open.
I know it's uncomfortable to let go and trust intuition and time,
But your way has not been working.
Worry and overthinking only amplify stress,
But I truly thank you for your well-intended efforts.
So let's try this instead.
Let's try breathing,
Becoming very present,
And surrendering.
And let's see what unfolds.
Let's try doing the most loving thing there is to do as we go through the day and let life handle this situation and allow clarity to arrive when it arrives.
Let's try another way,
Self-care and surrender.
Repeat after me,
I focus on what is right here,
Right now.
I do the most loving thing there is to do.
I can let things be.
I trust that solutions evolve over time.
I allow my mind to rest.
My mind deserves to take a break.
I let go and trust.
My mind is like a clear,
Open sky.
Good.
Let's bring our attention back to your breathing now.
Notice your breath as it moves in and out of your nostrils or your mouth.
Notice how you feel now after giving your mind permission to take a break.
Remember that just like with a child,
We can soothe their fears and help them become present and they will still have more feelings and thoughts arise again.
They deserve compassion and soothing again and again,
Just like you do.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Wishing you many moments of peace.
