Welcome to your body awareness and relaxation exercise.

Begin by bringing your attention to your breath just as it is in this present moment.

Start to notice any sensations you feel as your breath travels in and out of your body.

Notice how your body moves as you breathe in and out in the present moment.

Notice also the effect of your breath on your body.

Focusing on your breath is likely causing a more relaxed state to emerge in your body.

Now take a moment to mindfully scan your body,

Noticing in particular any areas that might be holding tension.

And as you encounter any tension in the body,

You can gently intend for that area to release.

Starting with the tips of your toes,

Up through your feet,

Lower legs,

Knees,

Upper legs,

Connecting through your pelvis,

Continuing up through your abdomen and your chest and back,

Through your hands,

Your forearms,

Your upper arms,

All the way connecting at your shoulders and then through your neck and all the way up to the top of your head.

Continuing to focus your awareness on your breath and your body in this moment and allowing your breath to ease and relax your body further with each breath.

We've come to the end of this practice,

But if you wish to continue meditating and scanning your body with the intention of relaxation,

Please continue to do so for however long you want.
