As the moon wanes into the void, we can let go of the things that no longer serve us. Join me as we practice this letting go as a ritual. Learning to be in sync with the cycles of the moon and the earth allow us to live more fully in the present, more fully in our bodies, and more mindfully overall. This is an embodied practice for Wild Ones who know that connection to ourselves, the earth, and those we love is what sustains us.

Dear Wild One,

There's something I've been curious about recently and leaning into,

And it's the moon cycles and those ancient traditions surrounding those cycles.

One thing I found is that the very last day before the new moon is called the void day,

Where there is no moon visible.

So traditionally,

This is the day to get rid of anything that no longer serves you.

This is the day to dump all of your junk directly into that void to make room for all the newness to come.

So today's meditation practice is all about releasing things you no longer need.

As you are able,

Find a comfortable seated position and begin to soften your gaze and notice the rhythm of your breath and your heartbeat.

As I ring the bell,

I want you to turn inward and close your eyes if you're comfortable with that and tune into your heart space.

Our world feels pretty chaotic these days and as we lose sight of the light of the moon,

We can start to feel unmoored,

Like we're drifting,

Unsure of where we'll land.

I want to remind you that the moon is in the same place it always was.

And yes,

This light will return.

And the way we keep our footing in this darkest day of the moon cycle is to turn towards our own heart,

Our inner wisdom.

So without working to fix or judge yourself,

Just notice the way your breath rocks or pours or pulses through your whole body.

It helps me to put my hand on my heart and you can do this if it works for you.

And begin to imagine that your breath is flowing in and out of your heart space.

See if you can create some ease here.

The research says that our energetic field reaches about three feet beyond our bodies,

That our nervous systems are patrolling not just our own energetic space,

But the world around us and the people around us.

So see if you can fill that area around your heart to its largest capacity.

Allow yourself to take up all the space you need.

And as you do this heart centered breathing,

You'll find there are things that you've been holding on to that you can let go of.

That crease across your forehead,

That tightness in your temples,

You can release your clenched jaw and lengthen your neck and ask your shoulders to drop down and back so that you're more aligned.

Allow your heart to glow with all the brightness of the moon.

It's okay to relax your belly,

Unlock those hips,

Breathe,

Ease down the length of your legs and spend a moment pressing each of your toes more firmly into the ground.

I want you to plug your feet into the energy of the earth and with your breath,

Bring that energy all the way up to join your expanding heart space.

You're connected to the earth and you're growing your heart and even so your mind is prone to wander.

It's natural.

So as you notice that wandering,

Gently bring yourself back to your heart,

Plug your toes back into the ground.

As you breathe,

Listen to your heart.

It has so much to say,

So many wild and wonderful things,

But here's the question for void day.

Ask your heart,

What in my life and heart can I release?

What have I been holding onto that isn't really working for me like I'd hoped?

Maybe it's negative self-talk or expectations that just don't help like perfectionism.

Is there something that's been holding you back?

Can you toss it into the void?

Allow your wild heart to guide you.

Allow your heart to shine a light on the things you are ready to release.

This may bring up some emotions,

Maybe even tears.

Release the tears.

It's metabolic energy you no longer need,

But this releasing,

It might feel cathartic to some and for others there could be a heaviness that sets in.

The feeling of being humbled or laid low.

None of these feelings or reactions is wrong.

Can you allow it without judgment?

Rather than shutting down,

Can you allow the light of your heart to hold all of who you are with gentleness and curiosity?

It will not be dark like this forever.

The light will come back around and until then your light,

Your energy,

Your wild spirit is strong and it's growing.

As you create space with all this release,

Begin to imagine all the newness that you suddenly have room for.

How will you feel it?

In a moment,

I'm going to ring the bell again and as the sound fades,

Start to enter back into your space.

You can blink your eyes open,

Wiggle your toes,

Stretch,

Return to your world.

I want to thank you for practicing with me today,

Wild one.

I feel like I should mention that void days can also be really productive cleaning or decluttering days.

It's a great day to tackle that closet you've been avoiding or clean out your fridge or create just,

Yeah,

Create as much space for yourself as you can.

That's right.

I ended this meditation session by telling you to go clean your room.

I would love to hear what came up for you or what you accomplished on this void day.

Please send me messages.

I love them and I look forward to doing this again with you very soon.
