As thinking how transformative this practice of Yoga Nidra is,
It can transform a body that is anxious,
Exhausted,
Tired,
Into a body that is calm,
Relaxed,
Restored,
Soothed.
It transforms a mind that is maybe chaotic,
Busy,
Spinning out,
Anxious.
It can transform the state of that mind into one that is still,
Calm,
At ease.
And it also transforms,
You know,
If we arrive at the beginning of the practice and we feel disconnected,
Maybe we feel ungrounded,
Anxious,
Unloved,
You know,
Not worthy,
All of those things.
It can really transform that state because as we reconnect with ourselves,
We can literally undergo a transformation into a space where we feel connected,
At ease,
Where there's a trust that whatever's going on in your life,
You'll get through it,
That on some level it's as it should be.
So it truly is transformative.
You know,
You come to Yoga Nidra in one state,
In one condition,
And I'm hoping,
I really hope that you leave completely in one that is completely different,
More grounded in who you truly are.
So let's go on that journey together tonight guys,
That journey of transformation.
And so make any adjustments that you need to now,
Do whatever you need to,
If you need to have a stretch or a yawn,
Let your body do whatever it needs to.
And let's,
Let's mark this journey,
This transition into a transformative space with a really deep releasing breath together.
So inhaling right down into your belly,
Perhaps hunching your shoulders up to your ears.
And then let your body go.
And then let's just breathe together.
And let's slow the pace of life right down.
And we can do that with our breath,
Just really taking your time and breathing right down to your ears.
Feeling every drop of breath and then enjoy the exhalation,
Which is your body and your mind's natural way of just letting it all go.
Absolutely everything,
Just give it all up and really be with your breath right now,
Just really feeling the direct sensation of your breath.
Really be with that very simple experience.
Body breathing.
So making the really simple shift from thinking,
From doing,
To feeling and just being.
And let your whole body soften so that it can breathe with ease.
Drinking in that life giving nourishment and then that lovely exhalation where you just let the weight of your whole body drop into the very gentle,
Already quiet space of just being.
And just a reminder that you don't need to control your mind,
There's nothing to control.
And any time you've drifted,
Just come right back,
Taking a few of these really slow,
Deep,
Releasing breaths.
Feeling the sensation in your nostrils as your body drinks in that breath and really get a sense of the relief as you breathe out of not having to be or do anything right now other than just to breathe.
Nothing else matters.
Feeling the slightly cooler air coming in and the slightly warmer air leaving.
And just the breath is transformative.
It's an incredible tool to transform your whole physiology.
So really take your time here.
Spend as long as you need really feeling your breath and devoting your whole self to the feeling of your breath that is transforming your mind and body with each breath into a space of quiet,
Calm,
Soothing rest.
Following the journey of your breath,
You will notice the parts of your body that are naturally moving as it breathes.
And just keep coming back any time you leave without any judgement.
And let your breath reassure you that you're really safe as you let yourself drop into the very inviting,
Already peaceful space of just being.
Know that peace is patiently waiting for you just to surrender and give up all the holding,
Patiently waiting for you to give up any trying to make anything happen.
Love is patiently waiting here for you to just let yourself drop into it.
And take your time,
There's no rush.
That space will always be here for you.
Always,
Always here.
So any time you check out,
Not a problem,
Just keep dropping back.
Body,
Breathing.
And feel where your body makes contact with the support beneath,
The direct feeling of the support beneath this body.
And just let the weight of your whole body fall into that support.
And let your body be held.
The bones,
The muscles,
The internal organs and glands of the body,
The systems of the body,
All relieved of every responsibility and having to get anything right.
Feeling where your head meets the pillow,
Just that sensation.
The contents of the head pouring like liquid into that support.
And a softening of the whole face.
Whole face softening.
And just let whatever sounds are in your environment,
Let them come and let them go.
Including the sound of this voice.
Just words appearing and disappearing.
Body responding and awareness noticing.
Tongue resting in the mouth.
And the inner walls of the mouth.
The sensation of the teeth.
The throat softening open.
And the lower jaw loosening.
The hinges of the jaw loosening.
And the lower jaw surrendering to gravity.
The touch of air on the skin.
The sensation of the clothes or blanket.
The touch of the skin.
Let the sensations come to you.
The eyes softening right back.
And the whole area around.
And behind eyes.
Releasing and letting go.
And letting go.
And letting go.
The space between eyebrows.
Softening open.
Letting thought be free if it's here.
Let thought be like clouds.
Drifting by in you.
A wide open blue sky of just being.
The mind is free.
Brain releasing and letting go of any need to figure anything out.
The whole head.
The whole head.
Alive with sensation.
Shoulders sinking down.
The very simple experience.
Whole right arm.
Not imagining it.
But being with the actual feeling.
Whole right arm.
And just giving up the weight.
The sensation whole right hand.
Give the feelings time.
Being real.
Being right here right now.
With the direct feeling.
Palm of right hand.
Making no effort whatsoever to find it.
Just let that sensation come to you in its own time.
Palm of right hand.
Whatever's there right now.
Palm of right hand.
Pure sensation.
Thumb.
Second finger.
Third.
Fourth.
Little finger.
Arm.
Wrist.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
Whole right arm.
Just the feeling.
Right side of the back.
Right side of the chest.
Right waist.
Right hip.
Right buttock.
Right thigh.
Back of knee.
Shin.
Calf.
Ankle.
Heel.
Soul of right foot.
The immediate sensation.
Soul of right foot.
Letting all the names,
The labels,
Fall away.
And just feeling directly.
The immediate sensation.
Big toe.
Second.
Third.
Fourth.
Little toe.
The whole right side of your body.
Softening.
Just a little more.
The very simple experience.
Whole left arm.
Just giving up the weight.
The current feeling.
Back of left arm.
The sensation.
Whole left hand.
Not the image.
But whatever sensation is currently here.
We call palm of left hand.
Let that feeling come to you.
Palm of left hand.
Don't try to keep it.
Just let everything unfold naturally in you.
Left thumb.
Second finger.
Third.
Fourth.
Little finger.
Wrist.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
Whole left arm.
Pure sensation.
The left side of the back.
Left side of the chest.
Shoulder.
Waist.
Left hip.
Buttock.
Left thigh.
Knee.
Back of knee.
Shin.
Calf.
Ankle.
Heel.
Left foot.
The direct feeling.
Soul of left foot.
Trust that whatever's there is just as it should be.
Soul of left foot.
Big toe.
Second.
Third.
Fourth.
Little toe.
The whole left side of body.
Softening.
Just a little more.
The whole body.
Releasing and giving up all the layers of holding.
Let your body feel however it does.
Pleasant sensations.
Maybe unpleasant ones.
See if you can really be here for them all.
All the feelings.
All the sensations that are showing up.
Moment by moment.
By moment.
Offering no resistance to this whole moment.
Exactly as it is.
And if resistance is present.
Offering no resistance to that.
And right now I invite you to just let yourself rest.
Exactly as you are.
To abide in the sweet space of just being.
And to gently come right back any time you leave.
But to really give yourself this bit of time and space.
Just abiding in the stillness and the silence of your deepest self.
Just being.
Aware.
Present.
Conscious.
Effortless.
Being.
Just allowing yourself to be.
Just allowing yourself to drop a little deeper.
And to expand a little wider into your spaciousness.
Wide open and free.
Coming right back home to yourself.
Before body.
Before mind.
Before all the states that come and go.
Just you.
Just being.
And within that spaciousness welcoming again the experienced body.
And holding that experience with care.
Compassion.
And tenderness.
Just allowing this body.
However it feels.
Feeling the aliveness.
The pulsation as your heart beats.
The breath.
Moving by itself.
And let's spend some time breathing together again.
Drinking in a few really slow deep nourishing breaths.
And really take your time.
Really be here with the direct feeling of your breath.
The rise and fall of your chest.
Inhaling like you have forever.
That your body could receive that nourishment.
On and on.
And that lovely feeling of release as you breathe out.
As you're giving it all back.
Giving it all back.
Feeling the sensation in the palms as you breathe.
The waves of vibration.
The tingling.
The aliveness.
Just taking a moment to really feel your here-ness.
Your aliveness.
And as you lie here quietly.
Call forward a prayer for your life.
Let that come to you.
Envisioning the life that you long for.
Seeing your prayer fulfilled in detail.
Noticing the details.
Your highest vision for your life.
Noticing what you really value more than anything else.
Keeping your breath slow and low.
Right down into your belly.
Seeing how your body trusts that the next breath will come.
That deep trust.
Trusting that life is unfolding just how it should.
Even if the mind doesn't understand.
Let's trust that there's a bigger picture.
And that all is exactly as it should be.
And that you're here right on purpose.
Fulfilling your purpose just by being here.
Feeling where your body makes contact with the ground.
Really sensing the support of the earth.
And the earth herself.
Fully supported in space.
Checking in with your body.
Feeling into what it needs right now.
Does your body want to continue abiding in the healing,
Restorative space of just being?
Or is your body ready to move?
Just really listening to what this moment needs.
And really going easy on yourself.
Go really slowly.
Take your time.
Give yourself space.
To take your time.
To really be here.
To enjoy every precious moment.
That you're here.
Knowing that even as our formal meditation time together comes to an end.
Our connection continues.
Noting all the blessings in your life.
What you're grateful for.
Just taking a moment to call that forward.
Thank you friends.
Thank you for this precious time together.
I'm so grateful to spend time with you in this way.
To transform ourselves together.
Yes.
