
True Peace
This True Rest meditation will calm and soothe you, leaving you feeling deeply at rest. It can also be used to fall into a deep and peaceful sleep. Recorded live on June 14th, 2020. When we stop to drop into simply Being on a regular basis, life flows with greater ease.
Transcript
Let yourself drop into the very simple and completely effortless space of just being.
And let's take a lovely deep breath together guys,
So that we're all dropping there together.
So nice deep breath in,
Hunch your shoulders right up to your ears and then let your body go ah.
And let the weight of this whole body fall into the surface that it's resting on.
Let your body drop like a pebble as it drops into a pond and lands in the earth,
Nestling into its home,
Just like when you go to sleep at night,
The body dropping into the stillness of your own being.
But you're just quietly watching as this happens,
As your body softens and helps that along with a few really slow,
Deep,
Releasing breaths.
Take your time and let your breath flow with ease,
Right down into your belly first,
With just the lightest touch of effort,
So you don't need to make lots of effort.
Just let your breath flow,
Tummy filling up like a balloon,
And then just give the exhalation away,
The lovely long and soft sigh.
Let the hinges of your jaw soften and allow your lower jaw to fall softly away from the upper jaw,
Just bringing your willingness to let it all go.
Just letting it all go.
Imagine that the whole story of your life is in a big suitcase.
Feel the weight of that baggage.
It contains the past and the future.
And imagine now that there's a great big hole in the earth and that you're letting,
You're pushing that suitcase down into the hole,
Watching as it plunges to the depths,
Landing in the core of the earth.
And that suitcase contains everything that you think you are,
All the roles that we take on,
Just for now,
Letting it all go.
And feel the relief,
It's not a neglect.
You're still here as a wide open awareness.
See if just for now you can really be with the feeling of your breath.
Just give your breath your full attention,
Watching as your body moves and feeling that very subtle sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils,
The touch of air on the throat.
See if you can stay right here with the feeling of your breath.
And if you leave,
If you get distracted without any judgement,
Just come right back,
Right here.
Right now,
Body,
Breathing,
Not thinking about it,
But actually feeling the movement of your breath.
Gently returning if you leave.
It doesn't matter how many times your mind wanders,
No judgement,
Just coming back again and again.
Body,
Breathing.
And notice as you breathe,
How the energies of your mind body system may be settling down naturally.
Body softening just a little more.
Nothing is being asked of you right now.
And however you feel,
Whatever condition of your mind or your body,
There is full permission for it to be as it is.
Really hear that,
Really sense that,
Really receive that.
Full permission for everything that is showing up within you and without it being asked of you.
Nothing is excluded from that permission.
And as your body hears that message,
Let it drop maybe just a little deeper.
Letting all the layers peel away,
Feel the inside of your mouth,
The tongue,
The root of the tongue softening,
The taste,
The throat,
The whole face softening.
Whilst you remember and remain present and aware.
Softening of the ears,
The ear canals.
We're not waiting for anything,
We're not imagining anything right now.
Just surrendering.
Let your eyes soften right back,
Melting into the support of each socket,
Temples,
Eyebrows,
Forehead,
Smooth,
Space between eyebrows,
Softening open.
None of this is a doing,
There is absolutely nothing to do.
Words are arising,
Body is responding as if by itself and you're quietly noticing.
The body is again releasing its weight,
The softening of the scalp,
The feeling behind eyes resting open and the contents of the head pouring like liquid down into that hole in the earth.
Just letting it all go.
Not one thought is needed right now.
Just being here is enough.
Base of the skull,
Back of the neck,
Shoulders emptying out.
And now welcome and give your full attention to the feeling right hand.
The immediate sensation right hand.
Back of right hand.
Full attention on the feeling right arm.
Exploring that sensation with curiosity,
Right palm,
Giving it space.
Fingers,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Armpit,
Right side of your chest,
Right side of your back,
Waist,
Hip,
Thigh,
Knee,
Back of knee,
Shin,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole of right foot.
Alive with sensation right now.
The whole right side of body.
Softening even more.
Give everything away.
Nothing to keep.
Nothing to hold.
Just being what you naturally are.
A wide open space of awareness that receives everything in itself as itself.
And don't move one iota from that.
See if you can stay.
Just being.
And now giving your full attention to the raw experience left hand.
The direct sensation left hand.
Back of left hand.
The natural sensation left palm.
Maybe a warmth.
Maybe a pulsation.
Let all the labels,
The descriptions,
The commentary drop away.
Just the immediate feeling left palm.
Fingers,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Armpit,
Left side of your chest,
Left side of your back,
Waist,
Hip,
Thigh,
Knee,
Back of knee,
Shin,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole of left foot.
Alive with sensation.
The whole left side of body.
Surrendering.
All that's being held.
And staying holding.
This innately loving,
Allowing,
Compassionate space for whatever needs to be digested.
Your energies want to be liberated.
Seen.
You are aware.
You are awareness itself.
You are present.
You are presence itself.
Just being.
And just take a moment to check in.
Scanning this body from head to toe.
Noticing any areas of tightness,
Holding or contraction.
And that noticing is the softening.
Nothing needs to be done.
Safe.
Trusting that all is well.
Noticing that whatever within you called you to stop will unfold perfectly.
You are in just the right place.
In just the right moment.
See if you can stay.
And in that moment that you notice,
That you checked out,
That moment is a moment of freedom and a choice appears to let it all go again.
To return.
To the openness of your own being.
So how would it be for the silent space that follows to really be here?
To take your stand as that compassionate presence that holds a kind space for mind,
Body and world.
And in this silent space I will be right here with you.
Just being.
That is life.
Mmm.
Mmm.
Mmm.
Mmm.
That shows me the way to bring peace and comfort into my mind.
Just being,
Just being,
Nothing added,
Just the sweetness.
Of what remains when all the stories drop away.
A re-discovery of who you truly are,
Before you are anything,
Before you are anyone.
Return to the peace at the core of your being.
Feel this whole body,
Whole body free,
Pure sensation.
Feel where your body meets the surface that it's resting on.
Feel that sensation.
Getting a sense of the earth supporting your body to be here.
Earth supported in space,
Just really get a sense of that for this moment.
Life unfolding moment by moment in you,
This wide open awareness.
Now let your breath deepen again.
Let's take a few more of those really slow,
Really deep breaths with just the lightest touch of effort.
Allow that breath to flow deep down into your belly.
Let there be a softening in your abdomen,
Trusting that your body knows how to breathe.
Take a really long,
Slow drink of that fresh life giving breath,
Receiving and feeling every drop.
Give the exhalation away.
Just handing it all over and just spending these remaining moments noticing what remains.
When we drop everything that we think about ourselves,
Everything that we know,
All our conclusions,
When we suspend all the controlling and the managing,
What remains?
Where do you go?
Always here.
Always now.
Conscious.
Present and aware.
Unbound.
Free.
Undivided.
Love itself.
Peace itself.
Remains.
From this part of yourself,
Your deepest being,
Call forward a prayer for your life.
What do you really,
Really want?
What drives you?
What has the highest value in your life?
The number one value,
Just really getting in touch with that.
What your heart longs for more than anything.
And breathe that in.
Breathe it in generously.
And as you exhale,
Let that be a dropping away of anything that holds you back,
Anything that keeps you stuck,
Anything that comes between you and what your heart longs for.
Breathing right through the heart of what calls you.
Returning to this whole moment.
Right now.
And now.
Always now.
Not a series of moments that are connected but just the infinite,
Eternal now.
Just being.
Keep breathing slowly and deeply so that your nervous system knows that it's safe to stay in that rest and digest mode where all the healing and repair takes place.
The more that we practice yoga nidra,
The more that becomes our default mode of nervous system.
It's like we're changing the idol,
Resetting.
The more that we do it,
The more that our system comes to rest there.
And maybe now calling forward something that you're grateful for in your life.
Doesn't have to be big.
Just something that you're grateful for.
Maybe just the air that you're breathing right now.
I am grateful to each and every one of you on this call for showing up,
For bringing your full presence and your commitment as we really explore these ways that we can live greater ease,
Joy and peace.
So thank you.
And I'm going to invite you now to either continue resting in that gentle space or to let your body move when it's ready,
But to go easy on yourself.
To just let your body move when it's ready,
To continue to hold that compassionate,
Kind space for yourself as all that's human returns.
As the stories come back,
To meet that gently.

Not just for yourself,
But all those who you love and cherish.

A beautiful and amazing meditation. The music was perfectly chosen and the whole session a perfect art form delivered live! Your voice was so powerful and energetic. It is good to be in that realm where thought cannot enter. I hope I have the strength and purity to realise my prayer for life. Every one of your meditations are such a divine gift. a beautiful meditation, I love the pacing and imagery but the change of music half way through woke me up again.
